The band has been playing for over 35 years and has performed with dozens of jazz legends past and present including Dizzy Gillespie, Joe Williams, Clark Terry, Zoot Sims, Terence Blanchard, Peter Erskine, Tim Hagans, Tom Scott, Bill Watrous, and more. The group performs the works of all of the major big bands of the past eight decades along with arrangements commissioned specifically for the orchestra. The TJO has two CDs to its credit titled Groovin’ and Out of Nowhere. Contributions to assist the orchestra can be mailed to the address below, sent using PayPal via the Website, or by e-mail ([email protected]). VALENTINE THEATRE SERIESVeterans’ Salute • Saturday, November 11 at 5 p.m.Come enjoy a “Salute to Our Veterans” on Veterans Day in a rare early bird performance. As a tribute to all who have served this country, the TJO will perform a “Live World War II Radio Broadcast” with a celebrity announcer. The band will perform the songs and patriotic music of the day from Les Brown, Glenn Miller, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw and more. Be sure not to miss this musical opportunity to show our veterans how much they mean to us.

Holiday Tunes • Saturday, December 16 at 8 p.m.A jazzy tradition for many families, the TJO Holiday concert presents arrangements of well-known holiday tunes for all to enjoy. Get in the spirit of the season with the TJO!

Randy Brecker • Saturday, March 10 at 8 p.m.Randy Brecker, internationally known trumpet and flugelhorn performer, brings his artistry to Toledo! Four-time Grammy winner, Randy’s career has spanned four decades and countless performances worldwide. “His crisp, clean trumpet sound and decidedly melodic approach combined to offer an entirely delightful musical expression that could well serve as a beacon for contemporary jazz.” — Los Angeles Times

FUNDRAISER Old Black Magic Gala • Friday, April 13 at 8 p.m.

“That Old Black Magic” is the theme to this evening of fun and fundraising. The TJO will perform in the Grand Lobby doing music of a “spooky nature” in name, style, and sound. The event features dancing, dining, and the opportunity to have your fortune told by area psychics and astrologers. This is a great opportunity to come out and support your TJO while having a “SuperNatural” time.
