Regional Universal Sieger/Siegerin: a. All German Shepherd Dogs owned by a resident of the Southwestern Region of USCA who are

members in good standing of the United Schutzhund Clubs of America and are members of a Southwestern Region’s full member USCA club are eligible to receive this title under the following conditions:

b. The dog must be breed surveyed. c. The dog must be shown in the SW Regional Conformation Show and SW Regional IPO

Championship in the same calendar year. d. The dog must receive at least an “SG” rating at the Southwestern Regional

Conformation Show. e. The dog must receive pronounced and at least an “G” rating at the

Southwestern Regional IPO Championship. f. Dogs that have been sterilized after receiving a KKL rating are not eligible. g. Dogs must be owned and in the possession of a Southwestern member for at least six months

before the first regional event. h. Dogs must have a SchH 3/IPO3 and KKL rating to obtain the title of Universal Sieger/in (year)

Upon approval of these regulations at our 2016 Southwestern Regional meeting, registration of participant

dogs needs to be submitted to our Regional Breed Warden no later than 20 days after the 2016 Southwestern IPO Championships. However, a Universal Sieger participation card must be obtained at the 2016 Regional meeting or event so that they can be signed by the attending judge.

a. Starting in 2017, registration of participating dogs is required 25 days before the first regional event.

b. A Universal Sieger participation card is to be obtained from the Regional Breed Warden. A copy of the dog’s registration papers, breed survey report (KKL), score book, USCA membership card, and name of your Southwestern USCA Club affiliation is to be sent/given to our regional breed warden for recording purposes.

c. Owner/handler must note on entry form of hosting club of the interest to participate. The participation card is to be brought to both the IPO3 Championship and Regional Conformation Show where the scores/ratings are to be recorded and signed after each event by the attending judge. Any altering or changes of entries on the participation card must be done by the judge and witnessed by either the Regional Director or Regional Breed Warden, if neither is not present, a Breed Warden of the region can be called upon. Any alterations or corrections done by the handler or owner will result in a disqualification.

d. Hosting clubs for both events are to note those dogs that are participating for the Regional Universal Sieger Title in their event catalogs. Entry forms of hosting clubs must have an additional space for the Regional Universal Sieger entry.

e. No entries are allowed after the given closing date of the second event.

a. The dog receiving the lowest number of points combined in both events will be declared

as the Southwestern Region Universal Sieger and Siegerin 2017 b. The following points will be awarded:

1. Dogs are awarded points depending on their placing in the Working Classes. 2. The first-place dog receives one (1) point. The dog in second place receives two (2)

points, and so on until the last dog in the group of dogs declared for Universal Sieger/Siegerin.

3. In case both long stock coat and stock coat varieties are declaring for Universal Sieger/Siegerin they will be presented to the judge after the end of Working Classes and the attending conformation judge will decide their on placings.

1. Dogs are awarded points depending on their placing at the Regional IPO Championship. The first-place dog receives one (1) point. The dog in second-place receives two (2) points, and so on until the last dog in the group of dogs declared for Universal Sieger/Siegerin.

c. The highest possible score is two (2). d. In the event of several dogs achieving identical points (tie), the dog bred in the Region under

United Schutzhund Clubs of America regulations will be favored over any other dog. If there is still a tiebreaker necessary, then the points received from the performance in the Regional IPO Championship will dominate the other points.

a. The Regional Universal Sieger and Regional Universal Siegerin will receive a perpetual trophy award immediately following the declaration. This trophy will be returned each year by the year’s previous winner and awarded to the new winners each year.

All Puppy Classes 4-6, 6-9 & 9-12 months: 1. Proof of dog’s AKC, SV or other FCI registration papers or a notarized copy.

(USCA registration is not mandatory)

2. Dogs must have a tattoo or microchip. 3. Proof of current rabies vaccination.

Youth 12-18 mos., Young 18-24 mos., Adult w/o Title 24mos + & Veteran Class:

1. AKC, SV or other FCI recognized four generation certified pedigree (USCA registration is not mandatory)

2. Registration certificate (if applicable, e.g. AKC) 3. Scorebook (if applicable) 4. Breed Survey report (if applicable) 5. Proof of Hips & Elbows (if applicable) 6. Proof of current rabies vaccination. 7. Dog must have a tattoo or microchip. 8. Veterans are dogs 6 years & older (former retired show dogs & not for first time shown dogs) bring all

required paperwork. (No ratings are awarded but the dogs are ranked & placed according to quality).

Working Classes 24mos. + with Title: 1. AKC, SV or other FCI recognized four generation certified pedigree (USCA registration is not

mandatory) 2. Registration certificate (if applicable, e.g. AKC) 3. Scorebook showing proof of BH, minimum of SchH1/IPO1, HGH or other recognized working title 4. Proof of Breed Survey Report(s): Either original or notarized copy of original. If dog has already been

breed surveyed or is over 3 ½ years old vying for the rating of excellent. 5. Proof of hip certification: Either the “a” stamp on the pedigree or proof of OFA certification. If dog

entered is vying for the rating of excellent. 6. Proof of elbow certification for USCA as of 1/1/2012: for USCA only OFA or WUSV approved

certifications and for the SV they must be SV certifications. The SV does not accept OFA Elbow certifications.

7. Dog must have a tattoo or microchip. 8. Proof of current rabies vaccination.

Breed Survey or Resurvey: If your GSD is breed surveyed for 2016-2017, you must present the dog for re-selection by December 31, 2017 to be reselected for life. Otherwise, the time period allowed between surveys has been exceeded and the dog must start over with an original survey. (As of January 1, 2011, the SV no longer allows dogs to be presented for a breed survey extension).

Mail copies of the official pedigree, registration certificate, USCA recognized scorebook, hip certification (“a” stamp or OFA), elbow certification, show card (reflecting the highest show rating in a class over 12 months, with the exception of Adult Class w/o titles) original survey (if it is for lifetime or new survey after laps), proof of AD, and rabies certification. If using ZOOZA online registration site all entries fees are paid there. All required documents need to be scanned and uploaded there. ZOOZA charges $5.00 in addition to associated class and event entry fees

Please note dogs entered in the Breed Survey must be registered with USCA, Owners of the dog must show proof of or a copy of a current membership in a WUSV organization.

1. Age requirement: Dogs must be a minimum of two years old in the year of the survey. 2. Proof of dog’s USCA/SV or USCA registration or letter of pending registration from USCA (if residing in

the United States). 3. AKC, SV or other FCI recognized four generation certified pedigree 4. Registration Certificate, if applicable (e.g. AKC) 5. Scorebook showing proof of:

a.) Completion of a BH under a WUSV recognized judge. The SV now recognizes BH’s awarded under SV, USCA, & USCA-SV Judges for SV Breed Surveys (effective as of March 2014). Dogs with an HGH title are not required to have a BH.

b.) Proof of completion of an AD under an SV or USCA-SV Judge (effective as of March 2014). Dogs with HGH are not required to have an AD

c.) Proof of completion of at least a SchH1/ IPO1 or HGH under a USCA recognized Judge. (One IPO/SchH title must be obtained under a SV recognized judge for the SV Breed Survey --effective as of March 2014). It is mandatory that a minimum of 80 pts. in protection be achieved in SchH/IPO/VPG1 (USCA Breed Survey Regulations as revised March 2015).

6. Breed Survey Report(s): Either original or notarized copy of the original, if the dog is entered for any type of survey other than a first-time survey.

7. Show card as proof of a show rating of at least “G” (book/show card) under a USCA recognized Conformation Judge in a class over 12 mos. (Adult Class 24+ mos. w/o title are not accepted).

8. Proof of hip certification: Either the “a” stamp on the pedigree or proof of OFA certification with tattoo number or microchip identification, if not entered on pedigree.

9. Proof of elbow certification: As of 1/1/2012 USCA only Breed Surveys also require elbow certifications. OFA or WUSV approved elbow certifications will be accepted by the office.

The SV does not accept OFA elbow certifications.

The SV Breed Survey must have SV elbow certifications.

10. Dog must have a tattoo or microchip. 11. Owners of the dog must show proof of or a copy of a current membership in a WUSV organization.

THE AD: Minimum age: 16 months / Maximum permissible age: 6 years

Please note: Dogs over 6 years of age as well as dogs with a HGH title do not need an AD to be breed surveyed.

1. Scorebook: USCA accepts scorebooks from all our AWDF, WUSV or FCI organizations. 2. AKC, SV or other FCI recognized four generation certified pedigree or notarized copy 3. Registration Certificate, if applicable (e.g. AKC) 4. Proof of current USCA membership or a copy of USCA membership card if you are a resident 5. of the United States.

All non USCA members are required to pay a $25.00 non-membership fee to the USCA Office

(as of 3-21-2013). Exempt for this fee are GSSCC members from Canada.

6. Scorebooks issued by WDA are not acceptable.

Dental Notation Procedure: (Dogs must be 12 months + older)

As set forth in “USCA”, a summary of paragraph 4.3 of the SV conformation show rules

provides: “Conformation show ratings are not influenced by teeth which are partially or

completely missing due to external influence. It is required to have proof of the existence of a

previously healthy & strong dentition with a complete scissor bite.

The following proof is acceptable:

1. Entry by a Koermeister or conformation judge in the corresponding section of the scorebook, showing proof of complete dentition as soon as dog receives permanent teeth.

2. Koerschein showing proof of dental status at time of first survey. 3. Entry by the USCA Office in the pedigree.

Some scorebooks at this time do not contain a dental notation section. The required form,

which may be inserted in your dog’s scorebook, can be obtained at the show registration desk.

GENERAL RULES FOR THE SHOW

1. Only German Shepherd Dogs can enter the show. 2. Dogs must be registered with an AKC, SV or other FCI recognized registry. Dogs born in the US must

present AKC registration. 3. All dogs over the age of 12 months must have a certified four generation pedigree. 4. All dogs shown in the Breed Survey must be registered with USCA/SV or USCA Breed Registry

Program if the signature authorized owner is a US resident. 5. The cost is $104.00 for USCA/SV or $35.00 for USCA only registration, payable to USCA. A registration

application can be completed on the day of the show. However, the dog(s) show entry form must be sent in before the final deadline of the conformation show.

6. Please refer to USCA’s web site for complete information on the required documentation for USCA/SV or USCA only registration.

7. If your papers are in process with the USCA Office, you must provide a letter confirming that USCA registration is in process. (conformation show letter)

8. For the Breed Survey--If you do not bring a letter from the USCA Office confirming registration is in process, you will have to re-register your dog and pay the registration fees again at the show.

The USCA Office can then verify the registration & will contact you. The age of the dog for determining the proper class shall be its age on the first day of the show.

9. All dogs over 12 months of age will be tested for gun sureness. 10. Dogs entered in the working dog classes WILL be required to show proof of working titles. 11. Approved working titles are: SchH, IPO, HGH, and DPO titles under a USCA recognized judge. 12. All dogs entered in the working class, you must be able to provide the scorebook, hip & elbow

certification and when more than 3 1/2 years of age must be surveyed to be eligible for a “V” rating by providing the respective forms.

13. Posting a $50.00 bond for a missing scorebook is only allowed for USCA members. 14. Handlers of dogs in each class must have in their possession the original or notarized copy of the

original pedigree for the dog. 15. The adult class is designed to accommodate dogs over 24 months of age that do not yet have a

working title. Please note a show rating earned in this class is not recognized for breed survey or breeding purposes.

16. Dogs older than 6 years of age may be shown in the Veterans Class. Dogs must have previously earned a show rating in a class over 12 months with the exception of the Adult Class w/o titles. No ratings are awarded but the dogs are ranked and placed according to quality.

17. Dogs can only be shown on a fur-saver type collar. No leather and/or nylon collars are permitted. 18. All dogs MUST be tattooed or micro chipped before entry into the conformation show. 19. It is the responsibility of the dog owner to bring a working chip reader to the show. 20. Proof of current vaccinations is required for all dogs entered. 21. No surgically altered dogs. 22. Dogs must be FREE of all signs of illness. Sick dogs will be excused from the show grounds. 23. Any person that has been barred from exhibiting dogs shall not own a dog entered in the show. 24. Dogs barred from progeny registration cannot be entered in the show or breed survey. 25. Only those dogs entered in the show will be allowed on the show grounds. 26. Only dogs entered in the class being judged will be allowed near the show ring. 27. Show entries must be paid for all dogs entered in the show even if the dog is not shown.

There will be NO Refunds! 28. All entries received by November 23rd, will be considered on time. 29. After November 23rd, there will be a $50.00 Late Fee and the dog(s) will not be entered in the

catalog. Show Site Information:

30. Free parking is available and is on a first come first serve basis. 31. Electricity, shade, and shelter are not available. 32. Bring water for your dogs. 33. Bring your own chairs, crates, and canopies. 34. Dogs MUST be on leash or in crates at all times. Dogs will not be allowed to be tied out.

35. Designated exercise areas will be posted for your dogs (off the field). Trash cans and pooper scoopers will be provided.

36. Please clean up after your own dogs. 37. Food and beverages will be available all day throughout each day. 38. The show will be held outdoors—rain or shine! 39. All times are tentative and may be subject to change at the Judge’s discretion.
