• Sonic Boom has become one of the most popular events in the Midwest attracting over 35,000 people.

• This two-day event brings over 30 national active rock bands to two stages.

• Concert-goers enjoy activities all day including games, interactive music stations, vendors, food and beverages.

• Hosted by WJJO – Madison, a nationally award winning radio station, owned and operated by Mid-West Family Broadcasting.

• Held at the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport in Janesville, WI, this unique facility is just 27-miles north of the Illinois/Wisconsin border and is easily accessible to both Chicago and Milwaukee.

• Created over a two million dollar economic impact on local businesses during the event.

• Over 12,000 pounds of food was donated to local food pantries with ticket for donation programs.

• Several local charity groups work during the event and have raised over $10,000 for their programs.

• Active and retired military are offered discounts on concert tickets and have a special area where they get recognized for their service. Local military service organizations are encouraged to promote their services to Veterans.

Working with JJO Sonic Boom over the past few years has been a true pleasure. This is a large event for our

community, creating nearly a million dollars in economic impact for local businesses each year. An event this size has many moving parts, but JJO’s professionalism, organization

and spirit of partnership keeps all aspects of the event running smoothly every step of the way from working with

local businesses to partnering with community nonprofits for the fundraising portion of their event.

Over the past 3 years JJO stopped by to hand out tickets to Sonic Boom in exchange for non-perishable food donations! The lines easily had a couple hundred

people each and tickets were gone within 15-30 minutes both times! Food donations are always slow

during the summer months and the food donated helped us out greatly. Over 3,000 pounds of food and $1,000+ was raised for ECHO. Each year, ECHO assists

over 3,500 households in our community. Without donation drives, this would not be possible.

The Salvation Army in Janesville is so lucky to partner with WJJO on the Sonic Boom ticket

giveaways. Summers are a crucial time at the Food Pantry when donations slow down, but with kids

home from school, the need becomes greater. Last summer our Food Pantry was giving away 600-800

grocery orders per month, that is a lot of food! Sonic Boom ticket give away came at a perfect

time; we received 11 barrels of food, that is 2,750 pounds! What a godsend!
