Mission Statement of the Florida Podiatric MedicalAssociation’s Scientifi c and Management Seminar (SAM)

The Florida Podiatric Medical Association’s educational mission is to promote continuing edu-cation in podiatric medicine, podiatric surgery, and practice management through workshops and seminars. Our commitment is to increase knowledge by offering every registrant the edu-cational assistance needed to improve care for their patients and be successful in practice by promoting the benefi ts of scientifi c advancement in the treatment, prevention, and alleviation of podiatric ailments.

ApprovalThe Florida Podiatric Medical Association is approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education as a sponsor of continuing education in podiatric medicine.

Intended AudiencePodiatric residents and doctors of podiatric medicine.

Cancellation PolicyCancellations are accepted through the last day of the meeting. A $50 administrative fee will be charged for “no shows” who do not cancel. You will be billed for this fee or it will be deducted from your refund, if already paid.

Continuing Education Contact Hours (CECH) AwardedContinuing Education Contact Hours (CECH) for each lecture/workshop will be listed in the SAM 2017 Program, which will be provided to SAM 2017 attendees on-site at the conference. CECH will be based on tracks attended.

Continuing Education Contact Hours (CECH) Scanning PolicyEvery attendee in the SAM 2017 physician program will be assigned an electronic badge upon check-in. This badge will need to be scanned at the beginning and end of each session you attend in order to determine the exact time of attendance and assign CECH accordingly. You must scan in and out of each lecture hall that you enter in order to receive CECH. A log will be posted in the registration area each day for you to review your earned hours and submit corrections, if necessary.

Total CECH will be calculated from the electronic badges that each physician uses to enter the lecture halls. Those contact hours will be submitted to CE Broker by FPMA once the conference is over and all hours have been veri-fi ed.

In Florida, Practice Management hours are not required and are limited to 3.0 hours per biennium; Risk Manage-ment is limited to 1.0 hour per biennium; Laws & Rules is limited to 1.0 hour per biennium; and Medical Errors is limited to 2.0 hours per biennium.

Every SAM 2017 attendee must wear a color-coded badge, which will be issued to them upon check-in at the FPMA registration desk, in order to enter the Exhibit Hall and Lecture Halls. Attendees’ spouses and children may obtain a guest badge to visit the Exhibit Hall at the FPMA registration desk.

WRIGHT MEDICAL RV LABSThe Wright Medical RV Labs will take place Thursday through Saturday during SAM 2017. Each lab session will hold up to six surgeons (three per station) and they are all expected to fi ll up quickly. WRIGHT MEDICAL RV LABSThe Wright Medical RV Labs will take place Thursday through Saturday during SAM 2017. Each lab session will hold up to six surgeons (three per station) and they are all expected to fi ll up quickly. SAM attendees can register for the various labs on-site at the Wright Medical RV, located outside the Hilton Orlando. Space is limited, there is no fee, and attendance of the labs earns NO CECH.
