KIDZ KLUBThese programs are designed to provide educational, social, and recreational opportunities for the children of Wisconsin Dells School District. These programs are provided by the City of Wisconsin Dells and the Village of Lake Delton with the support of the Wisconsin Dells School District.

YOUTH FLAG FOOTBALLGRADE 1–2 AND 3–4 NFL FLAG FOOTBALL — PART OF NFL FOOTBALL PLAY 60 This program will focus on fundamentals, team play, sportsmanship, and fun. Volunteer coaches are needed. Children will be placed on a team. They will practice and play games on Mondays and Wednesdays. The first few weeks are practice only, with games starting around week 3 (Sept 20/25).

WD YOUTH CLUB BASKETBALL WDYCB coordinates boys and girls basketball grades 4 – 8 and is operated by its own Board of Directors. The club strives to teach all kids the basic fundamentals of basketball. Teams practice during the week and participate in weekend tournaments at JustAGame and other communities.

LITTLE HOOPER’S BASKETBALL This is a beginner program that will introduce boys and girls to the fundamentals of basketball. Kids will participate in drills and small games each week. Each kid will receive a T-shirt and be put on a team. Parent coaches are needed. Third graders will continue practicing on Mondays and playing in 2-3 weekend tournaments in Jan and Feb. Third grade players will be introduced to the Wisconsin Dells Youth Club Basketball (WDYCB) program and by-laws.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM The children will participate in activities that are designed to meet the needs of the families participating in the after school program. We will provide a variety of activities from homework time, free play, arts and crafts, group games, and more. A snack will be provided each day as well. We will take advantage of the opportunity to develop socialization skills, cognitive growth, character, independence, and a positive self-image. Kids’ Ranch and Kidz Klub have teamed up to offer one-on-one remedial reading tutoring twice a week at Spring Hill Elem. Students receive evidence-based, systematic reading instruction proven to strengthen foundational reading skills.

WINTER BREAK CAMP Winter Break Camp (USE ATTACHED FUN IN SNOW PIC) Kidz Klub is hosting a Winter Break Camp at Lake Delton Elementary School. Join your friends and the Kidz Klub staff as we celebrate winter! There will be arts and crafts, outdoor recreational activities, ice skating, and much more! The fee includes 2 snacks each day and field trip expense (parents must provide lunch, field trip TBD).

MARTIAL ARTSThis program is in partnership with Next Level Martial Arts Academy out of Portage. Next Level Martial Arts Academy is offering an introductory and advanced course in Martial Arts. Sessions for three age groups are being offered.

The first age group we are offering is 4 to 5 year olds. This is a basic class. The kids will tumble and learn self-defense.

The second age group will be 6 to 7 year olds. This class will focus on laying the foundation for strong character, focus, discipline, respect, listening skills, caring, awareness, coordination, and agility.

In this course, 8 to 12 year old children will learn a variety of strikes, kicks, blocks, proper stances, and how to fall safely. You will also learn self-defense techniques against grabs, holds, chokes, and punches. A strong emphasis for all three age groups will be placed on building confidence, focus, discipline, respect, and manners.

Adults - Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, also referred to as “Gentle Art,” is a martial art that focuses on controlling an opponent and making them submit through choke holds, joint locks, or superior position which inflicts a level of discomfort. Most of the techniques in Jiu Jitsu are ground based due to the idea that control is easier to achieve on the ground as opposed to

standing. Through the use of leverage and position students will learn to overcome their opponents. This class offers something for everyone, including physical fitness, self defense, and mental focus. All skill sets are welcome to join!

Adult Kickboxing - This class is 45 minutes of intense cardio training, Muay Thai, and boxing techniques. We recommend this class to anyone interested in learning self-defense, training for competition, or just wanting to get into great shape! Comfortable clothes and a water bottle is recommended.

Participants will not be required but are recommended to purchase a uniform for $34.99 from Next Level. Please call the Park & Rec office if you have questions or visit our website at www.citywd.org.

BALLET/TAP: A graceful, classical technique emphasizing body lines, ballet is the base of most dance forms. Tap is a unique American dance form performing a variety of rhythmic sounds with the feet using tap shoes.

JAZZ/HIP HOP: Jazz is an energetic and fun class consisting of unique moves, fancy foot work, big leaps, and quick turns. Hip hop is a dynamic form of street dance, similar to what you see in music videos.

CREATIVE MOVEMENT: The children are introduced to beginning dance steps in a fun, recreational way.

*Attire: Dance outfits are not required, but appropriate dance shoes are mandatory.

FALL FEVERThe temperatures may be starting to cool down outside, but the fun at Upham Woods is just starting to heat up! Upham Woods 4-H Camp and Outdoor Learning Center welcomes your family and friends to Fall Fever, a Free Community Day full of exploration and fun. Take a trip back in time with a naturalist-led hike around Blackhawk Island. The barge will depart at 9:30 a.m. sharp, so please be on time as this is the only river crossing we will be doing on this date. Activities are for all ages.

Interested residents will gain leadership skills in education around canoe and kayaking in Wisconsin Dells. Participate in paddle education programs at Upham Woods such as teaching paddle skill building with youth paddlers, leading stewardship outings, and contributing to citizen science programs in partnership with Upham Woods. Paddle with Upham Woods all season long. An orientation at Upham Woods is required to participate in the program. Note – Future orientation session may be scheduled based on need and availability of Upham Staff to lead the orientation. *All programs/orientations are dependent on weather and river level conditions and are subject to change.

WISCONSIN MASTER NATURALISTThe WI Master Naturalist Program is a statewide effort to promote awareness, understanding, and stewardship of the state’s natural resources. Its goal is to develop a corps of informed volunteers dedicated to education and service within their Wisconsin communities.

QUAD CITY ADULT BASKETBALL LEAGUEWe have joined leagues with Baraboo, Reedsburg, and Portage to make the ultimate City League Basketball League! Teams from each respective community will play against each as well as playing your own community’s teams. Travel will be minimized, but even so we are all with in 30 minute or less drive from each community.

YOGA: The word means “Join,” a mental and physical combination to improve body strength and flexibility, help prevent injuries, release stress, and energize. Attire: comfortable clothing and bare feet.

STRONG BODIES, STRONG BONESCommunity-based program for bone density and strength building aimed at mid-life

and older adults. Uses light weights and ankle weights and includes balance

exercises and plenty of modifications. Nationally-acclaimed, evidence-based format
