2017-18 VPMA Board Election Bios For Officer Positions: Nick Lupini - Loyal Termite & Pest Control, Inc., Richmond, VA for the office of President Nick currently serves as the President of Loyal Termite & Pest Control in Richmond, VA. In 1977, Nick started in the pest control industry serving, over the years, as Route and Termite Technician, Sales Representative and Sales Manager, Vice President, then President of Loyal. He holds his VPMA WDI Certification. Nick has served on VPMA’s Board of Directors for the last eight years and currently holds an officer’s position as President. He is a past chair of VPMA’s Education Committee and Safety Committee and continues to serve on CVPMA’s Grievance Committee. He has been on NPMA’s WDO Committee for the past eight years, and is a past Chair of this committee. He also serves on NPMA’s new Super Committee. He currently is serving his second two-year term on the NPMA Quality Pro Board of Directors. He resides with his wife, Gena, in Richmond, VA. Rhonda Elmore - Commonwealth Exterminators, Inc., Lawrenceville, VA for the office of Vice President Rhonda is the Vice President of Operations at Commonwealth Exterminators, Inc. in Lawrenceville, where she has been employed for 18 years. Literally growing up in the industry, she is a Past-President of the Central Virginia Pest Management Association, and currently serves as the Vice President of the Virginia Pest Management Association Board of Directors, serving as chairperson of Scholarship Committee, and serves on the Pubic Relations Committee. Rhonda is also a past member of NPMA Leadership Development Group, and Professional Women in Pest Management. Rhonda resides in Bracey, Virginia with her 19 year old son, Austin. Outside of the industry and in her community, she is an active member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church, Lake Gaston Junior Women’s Club, and serves on the Mecklenburg County Cancer Association’s Board of Directors. Keith McCormick, ACE - Erlich Pest Control, Virginia Beach, VA for the office of Secretary Keith McCormick is the District Manager for A-Active Termite & Pest Control, an Ehrlich Company, in Virginia Beach. He started with A-Active in 2005 as a field technician and has served as A-Actives’ Operation Manager and Quality Assurance Manager. He has been actively involved in the Pest Management Industry since May 1999. He places emphasis on training and proactive quality assurance. He holds the designation of Associated Certified Entomologist from the Entomological Society of America. Keith holds the VDACS pesticide applicators’ license for general pest and wood destroying insects. In addition, he is a VPMA Certified WDI Inspector. He has completed Purdue University Pest Management Technology program. Keith currently serves as the Secretary on the VPMA Board, where he chairs the Public Relations Committee. 2017-18 VPMA Board Election Bios

For Officer Positions: Nick Lupini - Loyal Termite & Pest Control, Inc., Richmond, VA for the

office of President

Nick currently serves as the President of Loyal Termite & Pest Control in

Richmond, VA. In 1977, Nick started in the pest control industry serving, over the

years, as Route and Termite Technician, Sales Representative and Sales Manager,

Vice President, then President of Loyal. He holds his VPMA WDI Certification.

Nick has served on VPMA’s Board of Directors for the last eight years and

currently holds an officer’s position as President. He is a past chair of VPMA’s

Education Committee and Safety Committee and continues to serve on CVPMA’s

Rhonda is the Vice President of Operations at Commonwealth Exterminators, Inc. in

Lawrenceville, where she has been employed for 18 years. Literally growing up in the

industry, she is a Past-President of the Central Virginia Pest Management Association, and

currently serves as the Vice President of the Virginia Pest Management Association Board

of Directors, serving as chairperson of Scholarship Committee, and serves on the Pubic

Relations Committee. Rhonda is also a past member of NPMA Leadership Development

Keith McCormick, ACE - Erlich Pest Control, Virginia Beach, VA for the office

of Secretary

Keith McCormick is the District Manager for A-Active Termite & Pest Control, an

Brian Delaney, ACE - ProTech Termite and Pest Control of Virginia, Inc.,

Springfield, VA for the office of Treasurer

Brian Delaney began his career in the Pest Management industry in 1979 as a Pest

Management Technician. His initial position was in the field of commercial pest

management. In early 1980 he was promoted to Wood Destroying Insect Inspector and

remained at that position for nearly three years. In August 1982 he was transferred to

Virginia Beach, Virginia to open a branch office at that location for his past

employer. Mr. Delaney remained as Branch Manager at this location until his promotion

in August 1985 to Branch Manager at that company’s largest location in Falls Church,

Virginia. In 1987 when Brian’s employer was purchased by an out-of-state firm he

founded ProTech Pest Control. In 1996, he joined with James Selnow and Stephen Dodge to form ProTech Pest

Control of Virginia where he remains as CEO. Mr. Delaney is currently the Treasurer of the Virginia Pest

Management Association and works on the Nominations, Compensation and Finance committees. He is a past

president of VPMA, also serving in the past as Director, Secretary, Vice President and Immediate Past President. He

is a past recipient of the VPMA Industry Lifetime Stewardship Award. He has worked extensively throughout the

pest management industry as a consultant and expert.

Neal Straker - ProTech Termite and Pest Control of Virginia, Inc.,

Springfield, VA for the office of National Representative

Neal began his career in the pest management industry when he joined ProTech in

November 2007 as the Fredericksburg Office Branch Manager. Neal was

promoted to ProTech’s General Manager position in December 2008. Prior to

joining ProTech, Neal successfully owned and operated a printing and engraving

company in Alexandria, Virginia for 23 years. Married for thirty-six years, Neal

and Alice along with their three (grown and successful) children have always lived

in Northern Virginia. Neal’s past community involvement has included being

President of the Holmes Run Valley Citizens' Association; in that capacity Neal

spearheaded a community group to successfully advocate with the Fairfax County

Park Authority regarding the community’s interests in the development of the John C. & Margaret K. White

Horticultural Park. Additionally, Neal is a Past Chairman of the Northern Virginia Swimming League Automation

Advisory Committee; the committee was responsible for the league’s technology development. Neal also served as

Treasurer for the Fairfax County Mason District’s first elected School Board Member. Presently, Neal has served as

a member of the VPMA Board since October 2012. Neal chairs the VPMA Nominations Committee and serves as

the National Representative on VPMA’s Executive Board.

Jason Leonard - Forshaw, Inc., Richmond, VA for the office of Allied Director

Jason is currently in his 21st year with Forshaw, Inc. He is the Western Regional Sales

Manager, overseeing the Richmond, VA, Nashville, TN, and Cincinnati, OH

locations. Jason is heavily involved with the local associations across the state of

Virginia and has been on the VPMA Board for over 15 years, which he still considers

a major priority. In that time, he has chaired the Conference Committee and the

Supplier Relations Committee playing a vital role in building VPMA’s relationship with

our supplier members. Jason lives in Richmond, Virginia with his wife, Suzy, their three

children and their one dog.

For the position of Director, with 3 people being elected:

Charlie Church - Getem Services, Norfolk, VA

Charlie has been in the pest control industry for over 40 years. His company, Getem

Services, started by his grandfather, has been in business since 1922. Charlie has been

active in the Tidewater Pest Control Association, serving in several capacities and

finally as the TPCA president. Charlie has served on the VPMA Board of Directors

for a combined 17 years. He served as President of the VPMA from 1997-2000.

During his tenure as president VPMA devised a 5-year plan that he adhered to during

his presidency. Charlie returned to serve the Association as a director and currently

serves as the Chairman of the Safety Committee. If re-elected he hopes to fulfill the

plan the present Board is working under.

Adam Eason – Bug Busters Pest Control Services, Farmville, VA

In 2001 Adam Eason started his career in the Pest Control Industry. He quickly

became fascinated with the industry and became a Master Technician known for

solving the most complicated problems. In December of 2004 Adam took a leap of

faith and decided to open his own Pest Control Business and Bug Busters Pest

Control Services was born. To accomplish this, he was continuing to work a full time

job in an unrelated industry where he learned many ways to manage people and sales

and in marketing and recruiting and become one of the top 5 managers in the nation.

All of these skills became invaluable in running his own company. In 2011 Adam

decided to leave his full-time career and put all of his efforts and attention towards

Bug Busters. What started out as Adam and one truck has now grown to a staff of 30

employees and 2 locations covering a wide range of territory in the state of Virginia.

He has since opened a sister company, Dry Seal Home and Basement Solutions which

focuses on moisture control and crawlspace services. Adam has driven his company

to become Quality Pro Certified. He and Bug Busters are NPMA, VPMA, and CVPMA members. He regularly

attends Fred Prior Seminars, VPMA each year and CVPMA as well as the Mid-Atlantic Pest Control Conferences.

He has obtained his National Wildlife Control Operator Certification, Virginia 7A, 7B, and 8, Recruit and Coach the

Best Certification, and has the equivalent to an associates’ degree in business management. Adam is very passionate

about his company, customers, employees, and the industry’s success. He has been married to his wife Kimberley

for 11 years, they have 3 children, are very active in their church and local community with youth sports activities

coaching local teams as well as sponsoring them.

Mike Morris - Integrity Pest Solutions, LLC, Chester, VA

Mike is president of Integrity Pest Solutions, LLC, and has been in the Pest

Management Industry for over twenty years. In 2007 Mike and his wife Patricia

founded Integrity Pest Solutions, serving Richmond Metro and Central Virginia with

commercial and residential pest management solutions. Mike and Patricia are both US

Army Veterans. Mike begin his career in the industry as an Inside Sale Rep for one of

our major distributors. While there for 10 years, he served as a Technical Account

Representative, Distributer Rep to the VPMA, as well as Richmond Branch Manager.

Mike became a registered technician in 2001, Certified Commercial Applicator in

2003, Certified Wood Destroying Inspector in 2004, and a VPMA Master Technician

in 2012. Mike completed the Purdue University Pest Management course in 2005.

He currently serves on the VPMA Board of Directors, and its Education Committee and the CVPMA Board of

Directors. He is involved in youth athletics, community, and religious organizations. Mike holds a BA Degree in

Business Administration. Mike has been married for 35 years, has 2 daughters and three grandchildren. Mike’s

motto is Faith, Family, Fellowship, and Fun!!!

Derek Keith – Bug Man Exterminating, Roanoke, VA Derek has been in the pest control business for approximately ten years and currently serves as the Regional Manager for Bug Man Exterminating. He began his employment at Bug Man as a service technician, and in time advanced into sales and service. He has performed all pest control services provided by the company. He has experience in bed bug services, termite treatments, new construction pretreats, general pest control, as well as fungi and crawl space encapsulation and waterproofing. Derek was promoted to Branch Manager of the Roanoke office due to his tenure in the company, as well as his outstanding customer service and leadership skills. He has recently been promoted to Regional Manager of the Roanoke and New River Valley offices. He handles product selection and treatment specifications for all Bug Man services. In addition, he assists with scheduling, time management and route changes. He is responsible for hiring new employees, as well as handling all continuing education and training procedures for

new hires and technicians. Derek helps to develop advertising strategies and budgeting for each year. His primary role is dealing with day to day field operations. He and his wife Heather have one daughter, Ariana. Derek enjoys learning new things about the pest control industry, and most importantly ensuring Bug Man Exterminating helps contribute to the industry in a positive manner.

Brett Lieberman - My Pest Pros, Fairfax, VA

Brett Lieberman, the co-owner/operator of My Pest Pros began his pest control career after purchasing a Mosquito Terminators franchise in the Washington, D.C. area. After services expanded to include general pest control, a second brand, My Pest Pros was born. The mosquito franchise was eventually folded into My Pest Pros, which provides residential and commercial pest control in Northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. My Pest Pros recently became a Copesan Partner. Brett is VPMA WDI certified and is a Certified Basic Wildlife Operator. He has an MBA and a Master’s Degree in Government from Johns Hopkins University. After a 20-year career in journalism including covering national and state politics for Newhouse newspapers, he previously managed strategic communications for the BlueCross BlueShield Association and was director of communications and marketing for CAQH, a healthcare nonprofit. Along with his wife, Debra, and two children, he lives in Fairfax, VA.

John Reid - Accel Pest and Termite Control, Virginia Beach, VA John is the founder and co-owner of Accel Pest and Termite Control located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Originally from the Cleveland, Ohio area, John first began work in the Pest Control field in 2001 with Terminix International in Canton, Ohio, and later went to work for Terminix / MSC relocating to Virginia Beach, Virginia. In 2010 John and his business partner formed Accel Pest and Termite Control which currently serves the Hampton Roads, Williamsburg, and Greater Richmond Areas. A 1997 graduate of Mount Union College, John earned a B.A. while majoring in Sport Business Administration and Physical Education. John has been an active member of the Tidewater Pest Control Association since 2010, currently serving as the vice-president, and has previously served on its board of directors. John wishes to continue to serve the TPCA and increase his involvement at the state level through this position in the VPMA.

Cory Smith – Orkin Pest Control, Ashland, VA Cory received a Bachelor in Science in Occupational Safety & Health from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1993. He served in US Army Reserve from 1992-1996. He began his professional career in 1993 with BFI Waste Industries as a Safety Manager, moving into Operations/Facility Management in 1998. While with BFI, he was assigned to a variety of locations, (Winchester VA, Daytona Bch FL, VA Beach VA, Salisbury MD, & Dover DE). He joined Orkin Pest Control in 2002 and has served as a Branch Manager in 3 locations, Petersburg VA, Richmond Commercial VA, and Ashland VA. In 2010, he became the Region Sales Manager for the Atlantic Commercial

Region and Virginia Region. In 2017 he assumed the role of Assistant Region Manager for the Virginia Region. During this time, he has worked in Residential Pest and Termite Control, as well as Commercial Pest Control. His duties have included, but not limited to, Branch Operations, Sales, Service, and Administration. Corey is currently licensed in Virginia (7A, 7B, 7D & 8), as well as North Carolina and West Virginia. He has a strong commitment to organizations such as VPMA, and believes we have the responsibility to be the stewards of our industry. He is looking forward to the election process and would love the chance to serve not only on the Board, but in the following committees: Safety, WDI, Public Relations, & Membership just to mention a few.

Greg Schmidt - Pest Solutions, Stafford, VA

Greg Schmidt is the proud owner of a local pest control company. He and his

wife Alyce have been together over 23 years. He is very active in his church as the

AWANA Commander for the children and is active with the Fredericksburg

Builders Association. He also loves shooting, fishing, and cooking. Originally

from Richmond Virginia, he took an interest in the field of pest control because

his father Levi had been working in the industry for many years. He started off

when he was only a teen by securing a job and being trained as a termite tech with

Home Paramount. He continued to work in the field over the years at both large

and small pest companies alike. Acquiring invaluable knowledge from them all,

including such industry veterans as Ed Whiting, Jack Broome, and many others,

going wherever a position to learn and grow presented itself. A position with a

company where he could offer his best from service to sales. He moved from

Richmond to the Stafford area in 1996 as he recognized greater opportunities to

break into management in the northern Virginia area. He was blessed with an opportunity to start his own business,

Pest Solutions in January of 2002. Later that year, he was again blessed when he was able to bring on Joe and Jessie

Hughes, his friends and prior co-workers. Together with their team, they have built a strong competitive company

within the Richmond/Fredericksburg area. Greg prays that his company first and foremost, glorifies God. He then

prays that the company provides for his and his team members' families. He finally prays that he and his team shine

a light as they endeavor to exceed their customers’ expectations by providing exceptional service.

Bryan Vaughan – Loyal Termite & Pest Control, Richmond, VA Bryan Vaughan works for Loyal Termite & Pest Control Co., Inc. as their Training and Technical Specialist. He graduated from Christopher Newport University with a BS in Biology in 2011. Since beginning his career in the Pest Management Industry, he has earned his credentials as a Board Certified Entomologist and is currently serving on the board as Secretary for the Central Virginia Pest Management Association. Outside of work, Bryan spends time with his beautiful wife and two-year-old daughter and enjoys fine woodworking when he can spare a minute. He is currently seeking to become more involved in the Pest Management Industry and believes in the promotion of ethical and

environmentally responsible pest management practices among member companies through education, coalition and professionalism to safely protect the general public through the VPMA. Bryan is most interested in serving on the Legal & Legislative Committee and is also interested in the Public Relations Committee and/or the Blue Sky Committee.

Troy Wolfrey - PermaTreat Pest Control, Fredericksburg, VA Troy started in the industry in September 1998 as a route technician with PermaTreat Pest Control. After growing the route to the second largest in the company he was promoted to the sales department. He spent a total of six years as a member of the PermaTreat sales team and lead the company five of the six years. Soon after, Troy was promoted to Branch Manager at the Culpeper location. During those five years the office achieved Branch of the Year twice along with Manager of the Year two other times. He was then promoted to the Fredericksburg location, which had shown little growth over the past several years and customer service was not up to expectations. We as a team brought back customer service first attitudes while also

focusing on building a sales team. Over the next five years the branch doubled in size from a 3 million dollar operation to a 6 million dollar operation. In 2014, he was promoted to a Regional Manager role in which he is still serving today. Troy resides in Locust Grove, VA with his wife Tanya of 21 years and a daughter Bethanie who will be a junior in high school this fall. They enjoy outdoor activities along with friends and family.

George Wright – 1st Choice Pest Control, Chesapeake, VA George began working in the pest control industry with Brown Exterminating Co., Virginia Beach in early 1999. During this time, he advanced quickly into management and helped the branch grow to the second largest franchise in the company. In May 2008, George started 1st Choice Pest Control, LLC and the company has continued to grow every year. 1st Choice and its employees serve the entire Hampton Roads area. Their standard for providing excellent customer service is evidenced by many happy clients and positive reviews. In Summer, 2008, George began getting involved with Tidewater Pest Control Association. He has served as the Membership Committee and served on the board of directors since 2012, where he is now the current President. George’s primary goal as President is to increase the active membership

through leadership, education, communications and networking opportunities. George currently serves as the TPCA liaison on VPMA’s Board of Directors; and is a member of the Local Associations Committee. He has been a member of TPCA, VPMA and NPMA since 2008. He is a certified applicator in Virginia, hand holds his VPMA WDI Inspector Certification and His VPMA Master Technician designation.
