help them develop the skills necessary to be successful in life.
BGCFC relies on donations from the community, grants and volunteers to create a positive place for

trends throughout the youth movement. To promote personal and professional growth, Staff mem-
bers attend workshops and seminars offered by the Boys & Girls Club of America. These seminars
serve as resource centers for Staff members as well as a vehicle to enhance Club programs.
HEALTH & EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
It is important that every parent cooperates fully with the Health and Emergency Pro-
cedures. Our regulations are designed to protect the well-being of all members. If a
member becomes ill at the Club, he/she MUST be picked up with in sixty (60) minutes
after contact has been made with a parent or guardian. If your child is ill before
leaving home, please DO NOT bring him/her to the Club. Since the Boys & Girls Club
of Faulkner County is NOT A DAYCARE FACILITY, we are not equipped with an area
to isolate ill members. In case of an accident that requires medical attention, the Club
will make arrangements so that proper aid is provided. It is important that you update
us of any phone number changes.
Dress Code
The Boys & Girls Club of Faulkner County is designed to allow members the flexibility to dress
uniquely but appropriately. Any member who appears to be dressed inappropriately will have the
opportunity to contact their parent/guardian in an effort to comply with the code or be asked to leave
the Club.
Pants or shorts must remain on the waistline while in the building or on the Club property.
No inappropriate advertising on clothing.
No tight fitting/revealing clothing.

GAMES AND IPAD/TABLETS ARE NOT ALLOWED. These items will be confiscated and
returned to the parent at the end of the day. Cell phones are allowed but may be taken up if it is
causing a disturbance within the Club activity.
The Boys & Girls Club of Faulkner County is NOT responsible for any personal belongings that are
lost or stolen at the Club. Any items left at the Club at the end of the day will be put in the “lost and

Open Door Policy
Our open door policy states that members are allowed to enter and leave the Club facilities at
anytime during club hours. (A permission slip must be signed by a parent or legal guardian giving
permission for their child to leave the club alone.)
The Boys & Girls Club of Faulkner County is NOT A DAYCARE and accepts no responsibility for
any child that leaves the building without permission. If you wish that your child to remain inside
the Boys & Club, it is your responsibility to make sure your child understands this policy.
If you have any questions, regarding this policy, please ask to speak with the Unit Director at your
club.
Transportation
The Boys & Girls Club of Faulkner County does provide transportation from schools in the Conway
Public School District. (Transportation is limited). Transportation is on a first-come-first-served
basis and dues must be up-to-date in order for your child to keep their seat on the bus. There is a
10-day grace period for payment before the seat on the bus is filled by another student. If your
child has not ridden for at least 4 weeks, the BGCFC holds the right to fill their seat with another
child. Behavior on the bus follows the CPSD handbook and riders can be suspended from trans-
portation for breaking transportation rules.
If the club members weekly fee gets 2 weeks behind, then the member will not be allowed to ride
our transportation or attend the club until fee is paid.
Discipline
Proper behavior is expected at all times. When disruptive or uncooperative behavior becomes a
problem, the Staff will discipline the child with either counseling, time-out or a service project within
the Club.
Continuous behavioral problems or extreme incidents may result in suspension or permanent loss
of Club privileges. A copy of our Disciplinary Policies is included in the back of this packet.
Late Fees
We ask that parents ensure that their child does not arrive early or leave late. Any child remaining
at the site at closing time will be taken to the office to call a parent or guardian to pick them up.
Any club member that is consistently being picked up after the end of Club hours will be subject to
a late fee.
Inclement Weather & Holidays

BGCFC offers tested, proven and nationally recognized programs in five Core Program Areas that closely align with the developmental needs of all young people:
• Character and Leadership Development • Education and Career Development • Health and Life Skills • The Arts • Sports, Fitness and Recreation
We also undertake specialized initiatives that cut across more than one program area and/or address the unique needs of special populations.
BGCA programs are designed to encourage Club members to realize a wide variety of positive outcomes, a strategy for developing the “whole child.” In recent years, the Boys & Girls Club Movement has focused additional efforts on helping children and teens achieve in our three priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles.
Together, BGCA and Boys & Girls Clubs of Faulkner County follow the Formula for Impact – our
roadmap for ensuring that young people have a positive, impactful Club Experience and,
ultimately, achieve the important outcomes that lead them to great futures.
Programs
We require our club members to spend at least 20 minutes per day on
homework or sharpening skills they are learning in school.
Passport to Manhood promotes and teaches responsibility in Club boys
ages 8-17. Passport to Manhood consists of 14 sessions, each of which
concentrates on a specific aspect of manhood through highly interactive
activities.
Smart Moves consistes of three programs, SMART Kids (6 to 9), Start
SMART (10 to 12) and Stay SMART (13 to 15). The program is designed
to teach children and teens—through fun, high-yield activities—how to
abstain from, avoid and resist engaging in risky behaviors. Each compo-
nent addresses age-appropriate issues and provides information and
skills need for youth to adopt the attitudes and behaviors necessary to
lead healthy, fulfilling lives.
Triple Play, BGCA’s comprehensive health and wellness initiative, strives
to improve the overall health of members, ages 6-18, by increasing their
daily physical activity, teaching them good nutrition and helping them de-
velop healthy relationships.
Volunteer!
There is no better investment of time and money than
in the life of a child. They are the future. - Alma Powell
The Boys & Girls Club of Faulkner County is always in need of high quality volunteers to enhance
our programs. You don’t have to be an artist to help a child finger paint, or a teacher to help a child
read a book. Our club kids love positive adult attention and any times you can volunteer at one of
our Clubs in an opportunity for our club members to reach their full potential.

Disciplinary Policies
Zero Tolerance Policy: The Boys & Girls Club of Faulkner County strives to provide a
Positive Place for Kids. The Safety of our club members is our primary concern and therefore we
have no tolerance for fighting or bullying. If a child acts out in an aggressive manner with the intent
of harming another Club member then he/she will be suspended. We understand that each alter-
cation is different and some incidents are more severe than others; therefore, our discipline may
vary depending on each individual incident.
