Losing loved ones to death is part of life. In recent days and months our locations in Joplin, Thailand, and both centers in India have lost team members or their family members to this unavoidable part of our existence.

These departures motivate us to redeem the time. Sharing the Good News is urgent. For 40 years GNPI has equipped Christian leaders throughout the world to communicate the hope of the

Gospel through media to people in their heart languages and cultures.

Although we feel sad, we’re joyful to see God using GNPI to impact the world. Whether through social media in the Philippines, special holiday broadcasts in India, or Nomad training in new countries, we’re reminded that those called by the Good News of Jesus experience hope even in death.

Reflecting on Our HeritageWe’re excited to share memorable photos from our archives during 2016, our 40th year of ministry. These photos reflect God’s guidance, preparation, and faithfulness to us through the years.

God used the faith and obedience of one couple, taking the Gospel to Africa, to begin a ministry of accelerating global evangelism through media and technology. Visit www.gnpi.org/newsletter to learn more about the rich heritage of GNPI.

Watching How Faith Works

Why is media critical to evangelism? Nenette Pacoli of GNPI-Manila, Philippines, shared at this year’s Vision Night what God has shown her through nearly two decades of ministry.

Nenette and her husband, Bert, use media because it goes places they can’t and fosters change in a person’s heart. They’ve seen the Lord work through media for years as they’ve produced a full length movie, All Things New, and two award winning series: WWJD and My Worship: Real or Replacement.

Their hearts extend beyond production as they take the Message of the Gospel to as many people as possible, literally ascending mountains and crossing seas. People who come to know Christ as a result fuels their passion for ministry. One woman prayed for her husband’s salvation for 10 years before GNPI media helped her to lead him to Christ.

New projects like Say It Forward, TED Talk style presentations, feature Filipinos navigating the Christian life. Producing new episodes of this series and other projects will keep this team busy for the foreseeable future. Each program is driven from a single desire: to provide tools and opportunities for people to hear the Message of Christ.

“I used to think the story of the five loaves and two fish symbolized resources, funds, equipment, and physical things we are given,” Nenette said. “Now I realize we are the five loaves and two fish. If we place our lives in God’s hands, He is able to accomplish amazing things beyond our own capabilities. It’s how faith works.”

Say It Forward (SIF) invites Christian professionals to share their life lessons, so others may be encouraged. SIF adheres to biblical and conservative values.

The WWJD series has a new host and is now in its third season. The focus of this series is on a variety of social issues, and it encourages people to view these issues from a biblical perspective.

Chiang Mai has been called the most important city in the world for outreach into the 10/40 window. It is a crossroads. We have a pool of tremendous resources and people. Not only do we see the Thai people getting excited about evangelism within Thailand, but we’re watching the Gospel springboard from Thailand into closed areas. It’s a time I always dreamed would come.

Our team is taking Christian materials to people in the villages or sending them along with other workers to help as they communicate the Gospel. We are thrilled when we see our productions being used and enjoyed. Imagine our surprise when we drove into a village north of Chiang Mai for the first time, and the people recognized the ministry logo on our truck. They pulled out their DVDs with the same logo. We realized we had given their pastor the DVDs last summer at the Thai Christian Convention in Bangkok.

God also sends people to us. Last month over 40 hours of preaching

in the Lisu language were loaded onto a tiny thumb drive and given to a woman who visited our office. She will take this small device home to a nearby country where duplicates can be made on any computer. Although the government of her country opposes the Word, God opens doors that man closes.

We’re also seeing many opportunities to meet needs as thousands of refugees from Pakistan are pouring into Chiang Mai. We pray for God’s wisdom for the best ways to help and encourage the large number of refugees coming here.

It seems we have found the ideal solution for our Solar Kit workshop, and we are grateful for the grant to make the workshop possible. Building modules will be delivered on a truck with a crane, and the final assembly will be on our grounds. It’s a new era in missions and an exciting time to work in Thailand. Visit www.gnpi.org/newsletter to watch new videos about open doors in Asia.

Soon after writing this update, Tom Silkwood unexpectedly passed away on March 26, 2016. He will be greatly missed. Tom leaves behind his wife, Gayle, three adult children and their spouses, and five grandchildren.

Making a Difference

in IndiaManee Massey of GNPI-Damoh, India, and his staff produce special programs designed for the Indian culture. These include broadcasts on national television for Christmas and Easter, six versions of The Global Gospel, and Solar Kits specifically designed for their region.

The team in Damoh is conducting surveys after their broadcasts in order to be more strategic and to make a greater impact for the Kingdom with their productions. Manee writes, “I am really excited to share our survey experience with you. My coworkers and I have been blessed in calling the viewers. It was very emotional to talk with some of the Hindu callers who were open to discussing life, Christ, and Christianity. We prayed with many people over the phone. We tried to be open to do whatever we could for these valuable viewers. As a

result we sent out many packages filled with our materials.”

The entire GNPI network is challenged once again by the diligent work and faith of the team in Damoh. Director of Operations Tom Nutt said, “I recently shared Manee’s strategy of returning calls with those who gathered in Nicaragua for a regional meeting. The Christian workers found the approach very intriguing. We trust the Easter program will bring even more results.”

“We are very pleased to have three good time slots to broadcast the

Message of hope on three different national television networks during Easter,” Manee writes. “Thanks once again to GNPI for your partnership and prayers, so we can make a difference in India.”

Visit www.gnpi.org/newsletter for more information about the special television broadcasts and follow-up.

Shortly after this article was written, Manee Massey’s mother suddenly passed away. Please keep his family in your prayers, along with the 300 Hindus who heard the Gospel at Mrs. Massey’s funeral.

Eight Project Nomad teams continue creating culturally relevant media. GNPI hopes to add more teams to this group with specialized trainings during 2016, including stops in South Africa, Ghana, Ukraine, Togo, and Hong Kong. In addition, current team members from Chile and Mexico will soon visit the U.S. for advanced instruction.

Additional trainers, like Timothy Jai Kumar of Project Nomad-Chennai, India, will continue to multiply our efforts. Timothy will lead training in West Bengal this

summer. Trained national workers around the world are pouring into the lives of their peers.

Higher quality equipment available at lower costs will help extend our capacity. Sixty Nomad Production Kits are needed for upcoming trainings, and as with Solar Kits, you can help provide these resources for $1,000.

Visit www.gnpi.org/newsletter to learn what’s included and how to sponsor these incredible tools.

Springtime brings liquidity events.

Floods have disastrous consequences this time of year. Another type of liquidity event, selling assets, can turn years of toil and effort into a blessing for others. Even this can have negative side effects. Growth in business or investment value is taxable as a capital gain. As much as 33 percent of sale value can be “washed away” by state and federal taxes.

Timely planning may help you avoid capital gains taxes, leaving more cash for family and ministry. Check with professional advisors before signing a sale agreement, or contact GNPI to explore charitable tools that can prevent sale proceeds from washing away.

GNPI partners with David Duncan of the Co:Mission Foundation. Go to www.gnpi.org/newsletter for more information.
