Therefore, I want you to be informed on where we currently are at the start of August 2016. First of all, let me start by thanking all of the Finance Committee mem- bers for their hard work on preparing the budget and managing the Finances of the Church. Your commitment and hard work is appreciated! Our contributions to the General Budget is currently around $45,000 under what is needed at this time to fulfill the request submitted to the Confer- ence by the Finance Committee for 2016 to support our Ministry. This repre- sents a 22% deficit. Our Annual Budget is $353,969 giving us a weekly need of $6,807.10. We have the funds in our General Fund Account, $90,000, to satisfy all of our current obligations and are not in a crisis. This is in response to the wonderful job done by the members of the Finance Committee over the years. The Building Fund has a balance of around $40,500. We have moved the church bus and updated the paving to accommodate it in the last few months. We currently have no financial obligations. Our Main Street Rental Building continues to collect around $20,000 in revenues a year minus a few maintenance expenses. The building is paid in full and owned outright by AUMC. The Finance Committee has decided to remove the listed Deficit Amount noted in the weekly bulletin. It is considered by some to be an eye- sore when viewed by visitors to our church. However, the Deficit Amount is a real number and needs to be prayerfully considered each week by all members of our congregation. We all made pledges to the church when we joined to support the church through our prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness. Let’s make sure we all are doing our part to fulfill each one of these commit- ments. In a couple of months, the Finance Committee will reconvene to plan and prepare the General Budget for 2017. It is very important that we look at our financial contributions to the church and help make a difference to reduce the deficit during this time frame. The Finance Committee will have to weigh heavily on reducing our cost to provide ministries and ask the same of the SPPR Committee when determining salaries for our staff if we continue to in- crease the deficit amount. Please understand that God answers prayers and helps us to soul search to provide funds to reduce the budget. I’ve seen this church raise and contribute $90,000 last year to pay off the Church Bus! 2016 State of the Church, Financial Report In our last Finance meeting we discussed our current position with our

finances and the Growing Deficit on what has been received toward our Gen-eral Budget. Therefore, I want you to be informed on where we currently are at the start of August 2016.

First of all, let me start by thanking all of the Finance Committee mem-bers for their hard work on preparing the budget and managing the Finances of the Church. Your commitment and hard work is appreciated!

Our contributions to the General Budget is currently around $45,000 under what is needed at this time to fulfill the request submitted to the Confer-ence by the Finance Committee for 2016 to support our Ministry. This repre-sents a 22% deficit.

It is considered by some to be an eye-sore when viewed by visitors to our church. However, the Deficit Amount is a real number and needs to be prayerfully considered each week by all members of our congregation. We all made pledges to the church when we joined to support the church through our prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness. Let’s make sure we all are doing our part to fulfill each one of these commit-ments.

In a couple of months, the Finance Committee will reconvene to plan and prepare the General Budget for 2017. It is very important that we look at our financial contributions to the church and help make a difference to reduce the deficit during this time frame. The Finance Committee will have to weigh heavily on reducing our cost to provide ministries and ask the same of the SPPR Committee when determining salaries for our staff if we continue to in-crease the deficit amount. Please understand that God answers prayers and helps us to soul search to provide funds to reduce the budget. I’ve seen this church raise and contribute $90,000 last year to pay off the Church Bus!
