What are the Learning competency requirements?

Three elements make up the Learning competency requirements:

1. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) – Measurement of Learning Partner Reach.

2. Strategic Engagement – Defined business planning with Microsoft (Gold Learning Partners only).

A Learning Partner must meet all the Learning competency requirements, including KPIs and Microsoft Partner

Network (MPN) competency requirements, by end of month prior to their re-enrollment date (anniversary date) to

continue in the Learning competency.

1. What are Learning KPI’s?

Learning Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are an innovative system designed to recognize and reward Learning

Competency Partners. KPIs measure your capabilities by tracking reach of Microsoft Learning training products

and the impact of new Microsoft technical skills in the marketplace.

Learning KPIs, designed to measure a partner’s customer reach, are tracked via a unit system. These units are then

combined and used to monitor your organization’s performance and eligibility to remain in the Learning

Competency. KPIs are calculated based on the most recent completed twelve (12) months of activity.

Reach: Your growing impact

The Reach KPIs support Microsoft Learning’s mission of driving current and validated skills in the market. The

Reach KPIs are calculated on your organization’s purchase of Microsoft Learning products. For purchases to

qualify they must be purchased through Courseware Marketplace (CMP) or a Microsoft-approved certification

provider and mapped to your active Microsoft Partner Network (MPN) ID.

Elements of Reach: Training and Certification

There are three Reach KPI categories, each of which must be met based on your tier and location:

1. Microsoft Official Course (MOC) units, which includes:

• Printed Microsoft Official Courses (MOC) and Digital Microsoft Official Courses (dMOC)

• MOC On-Demand

• Custom Microsoft Official Courses (Custom MOC)

• Microsoft Labs Online (MLO)

KPI Reporting and Cadence

KPI eligibility is based on the most recent twelve completed months of prior KPI activity. KPIs are measured at the

organization level and include all KPI activity for each location within that organization. Reporting is available for

active Learning partners on the My Dashboard / Partner KPI Reports tab of the Microsoft Learning Campaign

Factory website.

Next Steps

Your MPN ID will automatically be granted access to Campaign Factory so that you may monitor your

Reach KPIs on My Dashboard. Campaign Factory updates access periodically; for faster access contact

2. Strategic Engagement: Annual Learning Partner Business Plan (Gold Partners Only)

The annual Gold Learning Partner Business Plan (PBP) is designed to capture your organization’s strategic

priorities for the year. This PBP is built with your Microsoft account manager and identifies specific growth

objectives, plans for alignment with the local Microsoft field offices, MPN Partner skills development, certification

Key Performance Indicators Overview

Quality: Your growing reputation

Although Metrics That Matter (MTM) evaluations have been removed from the Learning Partner Competency

requirements, Microsoft continues to offer the MTM tool as a benefit to our Learning Partners. Quality is a

reflection of your overall customer satisfaction (CSAT) levels. MTM not only gives you survey capabilities, but also

gives you a rich set of data to evaluate how your organization is performing in areas such as facilities, instructor,

and overall experience. Over time, this measurement will give you competitive information about how you are

performing against other organizations in your geography.

The Microsoft Partner Network drives consistent quality across competencies by focusing on three key

components: strong customer satisfaction, utilization of Microsoft Certified Professionals and specific customer

evidence.

Next Steps

• Register for a Metrics that Matter® account using your Microsoft Partner Network ID and complete the

initial setup. For more information review the Metrics that Matter® Enrollment Page.

• Check Partner Membership Center to confirm that affiliated MCTs and Customer references are up-to-

date.
