COURSE OF THE COMPETITION AND THE REPERTOIRE

PRE-SELECTIONCompetitors who will participate in the competition will be selected by the Jury based on the videos submitted by the applicants.

FIRST ROUND: PRELIMINARIES Competitors will be expected to conduct one of the overtures below:

SECOND ROUND: SEMI FINALSCompetitors will be expected to conduct one of the arias below OR a specific part of one of the concertos below, AND a specific part of one of the symphonies below, selected by the Jury. In all rounds competitors will be expected to learn all repertoire but will be allowed to use sheet music.

THIRD ROUND: FINALS Competitors will be expected to conduct one of the symphonic works listed below:

SICC PRIZES

FIRST PRIZE: 20,000 EUR and invitation to conduct concerts

SECOND PRIZE: 10,000 EUR and invitation to conduct concerts

THIRD PRIZE: 5,000 EUR and invitation to conduct concerts

Finalists will be awarded a certificate.

THE JURYMembers of the international Jury will be confirmed later.

APPLICATIONOnly applicants born after 1 January 1979 will be accepted.

Application forms completed by the applicants and other requested documents can be submitted by email to the following address: [email protected].

Besides the completed application form, the following documents are required:• a copy of the receipt of the bank transfer of the

application fee• a copy of the declaration about the need for an

invoice downloadable on the website, signed by the Applicant

• a copy of the applicant’s identity card (only EUcitizens) or passport (EU and non-EU citizens)

• the applicant’s curriculum vitae focusing on theapplicant’s professional and artistic development

• a recent photograph (of at least 2–3 MB file size)of the applicant

• a HD quality self-introduction video, in whichapplicants can give vent theit creativity and anat least 15-minute-long HD quality video of anorchestral rehearsal or a concert conducted bythe applicant, in which the applicant’smovements can be clearly seen

APPLICATION FEE• Early bird application fee by 28 February 2017:

190 EUR • Application fee from 1 March to 1 May 2017:

350 EUR• Deadline for submission of applications and

bank transfer of the application fee: 1 May 2017

• Early bird applicants who will not be selected to participate in the competition will be reimbursed 100 EUR. Applicants submitting their application on/after 1 March who will notbe selected to participate in the competition will be reimbursed 200 EUR.

RULES OF THE COMPETITIONThe competition is public and the whole process of it, including the concerts, the rehearsals, the preparatory actions and any other performances of the competitors within the framework of the competition will be filmed and recorded and will be (live) broadcast on television. By submitting her/his application, the Applicant will be deemed to have agreed to grant all consents to Filharmonia Hungary Nonprofit Ltd. (hereinafter Organizer) to film and record all of her/his performances within the framework of the competition, and to use recordings featuring the Applicant’s contribution, including without limitation her/his image and voice in all media throughout the world in perpetuity without the need for payment to the Applicant.

For the time of the final round in December, finalists will be provided with accommodation ensured by the Organizer. Accommodation costs during the first two rounds and travel costs shall be borne by the competitors.

In the first two rounds (preliminaries and semi-finals), competitors will be allowed to use sheetmusic, finalists however will be expected to memorize all repertoire of the final round.
