Basin Highlight Report

The goal of the Basin Highlight Report is to provide review of major events that occurred in the Basin during 2016, including:

• What major events or issues (e.g., extreme drought, increasing development, ongoing issues, record flood) occurred, how water quality was impacted and what was done to respond to water quality issues.

• Summary of Water Quality Monitoring that was conducted, planned including any participating entities and special projects.

• Discussion of water quality, conditions and TCEQ assessment and categorization processes.

• Maps and web site references

• Stakeholder Participation & Public Outreach

Determine how to keep the watershed master plans and models dynamic and

relevant to advance our River Health Index and to target future community investments.

Provide leadership in support of the San Antonio Bay.

Advance and apply our expertise to influence, develop and implement watershed solutions that balance the environmental, economic and quality of life needs of our communities.

Generate lasting and recognized improvements to the health and safety of our creeks, rivers, estuaries

and bays.

Implement agricultural and wildlife best management practices in our District that improves water quality and promotes riparian health.
