Celebrating 40 years of transforming the ordinary to extraordinary Once operating out of a small office on Jalan Dusun with seven staff in the 1970s, Kingsmen has since grown to become a leading communication design and production group with more than 1,800 staff in 19 offices across Asia Pacific and the Middle East. Experiencing Kingsmen chronicles our journey and key milestones over the past 40 years. Showcasing archival photographs, snippets and quotes, this limited edition book depicts Kingsmen’s history, values and experiences. It is a story of how an ordinary business became an extraordinary one.

A Greener Milestone at SingaPlural 2016 Kingsmen presented its first design installation to the design industry and public at SingaPlural 2016, the anchor event of Singapore Design Week. In conjunction with Kingsmen’s 40th anniversary, A Greener Milestone is an interactive installation that contemplates the perception of beauty and functionality through waste material. It encouraged the public to pen their thoughts on green design and their pledges to be more eco-conscious.

Kingsmen Plays Host to Asia a go go Kingsmen Singapore had the pleasure of hosting the first-leg of Asia a go go on 20 May, an event modelled after Euro a go go for industry professionals to learn more about Asia’s retail industry. One of the event highlights was the Go Go Speak session where our Deputy Chairman, Mr Simon Ong, shared Kingsmen’s milestones and achievements as we celebrate our 40th year of servicing brands across Asia and the globe. Our Middle East office hosted the Asia a go go attendees from 22 – 26 May. During the retail tour, the attendees visited Dubai and Abu Dhabi’s latest retail developments and had an opportunity to participate in some of the local cultural activities such a desert safari tour, an abra (boat) ride, as well as a visit to the souk (open-air marketplace).

Kingsmen Charity Golf

Over 140 avid golfers played golf for a good cause at Kingsmen’s very first

charity golf tournament at the Singapore Island Country Club on 1st June. All funds raised went towards

supporting the youth engagement & intervention programmes run by SCS.

Kingsmen Charity Walk & Bike On 13 August, youth from SCS joined us at our inaugural Kingsmen Charity Walk & Bike 2016 – a creative initiative that embraced both design and sports for a good cause! For the first time in Singapore, 50 bespoke bicycles designed by our creative team were presented to the youth by Guest-of-Honour Dr Janil Puthucheary, Minister of State, Ministry of Communications and Information & Ministry of Education and Kingsmen’s management team at Bay East Garden.

Sports Mania Two editions of Sports Mania were organised by SCS to inculcate sportsmanship, mutual respect and teamwork in the SCS students through sports. Our volunteers assumed the roles of team leaders and befrienders as they joined the youth to compete in fun sporting games.

CSR Activities

Lee Ah Mooi Old Aged Home Visit Together with 30 students from Holy Innocents’ High School, our Kingsmen volunteers were role models as they guided the youth in reaching out to the residents. With a gentle touch, simple hug and sincere heart, we brought smiles to the elderly’s faces.

Together with the two charity events, a total of $497,071.12 in cash and kind was contributed to SCS. A cheque of $353,002.10 was presented to SCS during our 40th Anniversary Gala Dinner,

representing the total amount raised during our fund raising events.

SRC Team Challenges

2016’s Experiencing Kingsmen Challenges Themed ‘Experiencing Kingsmen’, a series of three team challenges were organised. During the first challenge, teams displayed their knowledge of Kingsmen in an all-time favourite board game – Snakes and Ladders.

Creativity knew no bounds at the final installation of the ‘Experiencing Kingsmen’ Challenge on 13 October. Each team was tasked to design and build a structure that reflected Kingsmen’s journey over the last 40 years using recycled materials.

A series of exciting sporting challenges took place at Bay East Garden during our inaugural Kingsmen Charity Walk & Bike – ‘Protect the King’ dodgeball, obstacle race and Tug-of-War, were lined up for four different teams. Youth from Students Care Service (SCS) also joined our teams in tackling the challenges with skill, strength and agility.
