In addition to the listed events, the MSD Bands participated in a Faculty Performance, Pops & Pies, Football Games, Homecoming Parade, Coral Springs Holiday Parade, Winter Concert, Jazz 1 Performance at Jaco Pastorius Park, Tri-M “Give-A-Note” Charity Concert, St. Olaf College Band Concert, Pre-MPA Concert, Scott Lang Leadership Workshop, visits by guest musicians and conductors, Chamber Ensembles Concert, Freshman Curriculum Night, John Rusnak Performing Arts Building dedication, Lakeside Jazz Festival, and the Spring Concert!

It’s been a year of unprecedented achievements!

FBA District & State Concert Band MPA Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band earned straight Superior ratings at District MPA. It is the first time that Stoneman Douglas has had 3 bands qualify for State MPA. The Concert Band was the only 3rd band in Florida to perform at State MPA and earned straight Excellent ratings, while the Wind Sympho-ny and Symphonic Band earned straight Superior ratings. Stoneman Douglas was the only high school in Florida to have two bands earn Straight Superiors at the state level. It was the second consecutive year that the school has earned two Otto J. Kraushaar Awards, the top FBA award in Florida for a perfect record of Superior ratings from every judge throughout an entire school year.
