ANNAN RUGBY

Annan Rugby is a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC). This means we use all resources available to us to meet our aim to promote sport. We are passionate about rugby as an enjoyable pastime which provides opportunities for improving everyone’s physical and social well being. In particular, rugby is a contact sport and requires participants and spectators alike to learn disciplines of respect and consideration of others.

The Club has recently developed a partnership with Scottish Rugby, Dumfries & Galloway schools and The Holyrood Trust to act as a hub to encourage the widest possible participationin our activities. As a result we have massively increased our youth section with girls and boys represented in all age groups. This success means that we are confident that we can continue this expansion and meet the Club’s wider development aims.

Safe and sustained development at Annan Rugby can only be achieved by continually improving our coaching, playing and social facilities. We know that we are on the right track because our team of coaches have received local and national recognition. In addition the Club has been awarded for its excellence by Scottish Rugby and we invite and receive positive feedback from our members, visitors and the wider community.

Our current Development Plan describes how we will meet our ambitions for rugby in the local region. It includes the need for significant investment in training, playing and social facilities for the enjoyment of all members, present and future, at Annan Rugby.

OUR TEAMS• Our 1st XV won West Regional 2 going unbeaten winning 17 and drawing 1 game

• Our 2nd XV finished 2nd in West Regional 2A with a record of winning 11 and loosing 6

• ‘The Warriors’ our Ladies team finished 5th in National 2 and narrowly missed out in playing at Murrayfield in the Bowl final being beaten by Howe of Fife in the semi both in a fantastic debut season.

• ‘The Hornets’ our girls section managed to raise teams at U12, U15 and U18 with the highlight being the U15 team winning the SRU Bowl competition at Murrayfield.

• The club have also been made an SRU Focus club for Womens and Girls Rugby which will help nurture and promote Womens and Girls rugby throughout Dumfries & Galloway

• ‘The Tigers’ our Youth Section has went from strength to strength too with an increase in • numbers of approximately 600% with teams at P1-3, P4/5, P6/7, S1, S2 with all teams

competing in League games and at festivals across the region.

SEASON 2015 - 16

THE CLUBAs a club we won SRU Club of the Month for September for our performances on the field and our development off it.In May we were also crowned SRU Club of the Season at the SRU awards at Murrayfield a phenominal achievement for the club this being the first time we have won this award.

Last season was an extremely successful for Annan Rugby Club with the whole Annan Rugby Family flourishing…

SEASON 2015 - 16

OUR COACHESWe now have a Club Development Officer, a role which is part funded by the SRU and Hollywood Trust, who works closely with Annan Academy and all the local primary schools, providing rugby coaching. We also have upskilled our coaches and now have five UKCC Level 1 coaches and seven UKCC Level 2 coaches.

Two of our coaches have also been fortunate to have their work recognised by various groups. Ian Hamilton won Dumfries & Galloway Coach of the Year for his work with Ladies and Girls Rugby.

Gary Coupland won Dumfries & Galloway Volunteer of the Year, Sport Scotland Young Persons Coach of the Year, UK Childrens Coach of the Year and also SRU Youth Coach of the Year.

We are constantly striving to improve the quality of rugby offered at Annan Rugby Club through various improvements in coaching and facilities.

We are looking to recruit volunteers to enhanceour coaching numbers all of which will endeavour to gain UKCC Level 1 qualification.

This year the Club will benefit from the advice of former Scotland and Glasgow Warriors Captain Al Kellock, who is joining us as an honorary Committee member through our success in the RBS Rugby Force Initiative.

With regards to the facilities at Violetbank we need to refurbish the floodlight system which at a cost of circa £50,000, is a major financial investment.

It is also our aim to continue to increase playing numbers at all levels and maintain and further enhance our links with Annan and Lockerbie Academies.

As a club we also have a number of Social Media platforms where we constantly update information for our ever increasing number of followers.

OUR WEBSITE www.AnnanRugby.com has approximately 2000 visitors of which 700 are new from all over the world and they spend on average 16 minutes each time they visit.We are currently developing a new Sponsors Page which will show all our sponsors and have active links to their company website.

FACEBOOKThe club has two Facebook pages. Our Club page at https://www.facebook.com%2FAnnanRugbyFootballClub, currently has about 1250 likes which receives approximately 6000 page views and reaches approx 27000 people each month. Annan Warriors page at https://www.facebook.com/Annan-Warriors-771875482850736 which is a fairly new page and already has 500 likes.

All in all we reach between 2500 - 3000 people per month throughout these platforms and with the intention of linkingour sponsors through all these we will increase the visibility of each company throughout the local and national areas.

OPTION 3 – SPONSORSHIP OF “THE GRUBBER” For the sponsorship amount of £500 (+VAT), the sponsor will receive:• Prominent sign on The Grubber • ½ Page advert for season 2016-17 in the match day programme• An invitation to our Annual Violetbank Tournament in August and also to a Sponsors

event later in the season.

OPTION 4 – TRAINING EQUIPMENT FOR YOUTH RUGBYFor the sponsorship amount of £250 (+ VAT), the sponsor will receive:• A press release and photograph in the “Annandale Observer”• A ½ Page advertisement for season 2016-17 in the Match Day programme• An invitation to our Annual Violetbank Tournament in August and also to a Sponsors

event later in the season.

OPTION 5 - VIOLETBANK SPONSORSHIPFor the sponsorship of £600 the sponsor will receive:Prominent sign welcoming visitors to Violetbank• Full Page advert for season 2016-17 in the match day programme• An invitation to our Annual Violetbank Tournament in August and also to a Sponsors event

later in the season.

OPTION 6 – MATCH DAY SPONSORSHIP, LEAGUE OR CUP MATCHFor the sponsorship amount of £650 (+ VAT), the sponsor will receive:

• A pre-match meal with refreshments for 8 people in the Bank Street Clubhouse• Transportation to and from Violetbank for the match (and refreshments at Violetbank)• Recognition in the Match Day programme and the “Annandale Observer”• A full page advertisement for season 2016-17 in the Match Day programme• The opportunity to present the “Man of the Match” award after the game• An advertising hoarding at Violetbank for season 2016-17 (sponsor provides the board)• An invitation to our Annual Violetbank Tournament in August and also to a Sponsors

event later in the season.• Packages for smaller or larger groups are available on request.• Corporate or large group sponsorship – for £1000 + vat. Sponsor will receive

hospitality for up to 25 guests at Violetbank. Alcoholic refreshments for 3 hours and buffet all at Violetbank. Transport to Bank Street Clubhouse after the game where the group can experience the after match atmosphere and join in the festivities.

OPTION 7 – PITCHSIDE ADVERTISINGAn advertising hoarding pitchside at Violetbank (12ft. x 2ft.) costs £110 per season (+ VAT) and the sponsor provides the board. The sponsor will receive:

• An invitation to our Annual Violetbank Tournament in August and also to a Sponsors event later in the season.

As a special introductory offer, we are offering half-price pitchside advertising to new sponsors for the first season that the hoarding is in place.

When options 7 and 8 are taken together, a 20% discount will be offered on the combined amounts.

OPTION 8 – MATCH DAY PROGRAMME ADVERTISINGThe programme is printed for the 9 home league games in RBS Regional Leagues West 1 as well as for any home cup games. Pages are A5 size. The cost of advertising for the season (+VAT) is £60 half page, £100 full page, £125 inside front or inside back (colour), £150 back cover (colour). Advertisers will receive: An invitation to our Annual Violetbank Tournament in August and also to a Sponsors event later in the season.

OPTION 9 – HIGHLAND GAMES SPONSORFor the sponsorship amount of £500 (+VAT), the sponsor will receive:

• Mention in Highland Games Programme and in Matchday programme 2016-17 • Advert on event banners situated at main entrances to Annan• Recognition in the publicity of the event in local press• An invitation to our Annual Violetbank Tournament in August and also to a Sponsors

event later in the season.

OPTION 10 – HIGHLAND GAMES EVENT SPONSORFor the sponsorship amount of £25 (+VAT), the sponsor will receive:

• Mention in Highland Games Programme and in Matchday programme 2016-17 • Recognition in the publicity of the event in local press• An invitation to our Annual Violetbank Tournament in August and also to a Sponsors

event later in the season.

OPTION 11 – POST PROTECTOR SPONSORSHIPFor the sponsorship amount of £300 (+VAT), the sponsor will receive:

OPTION 12 – ANNUAL SENIOR TOURNAMENT SPONSORFor the sponsorship amount of £500 (+VAT), the sponsor will receive:

• A ½ page advertisement in Matchday programme 2016-17 • Presentation of tournament trophy at event• Recognition in the publicity of the event in local press• An invitation for 4 guests with hospitality to our Annual Violetbank Tournament in August• Also an invitation to a Sponsors event later in the season
