OPD provides voltages of 120/208, 277/480 up to a 1200 amp service size, and 120/240 up to 600 amp services. 2. How much will it cost to get power to my property? OPD is a non-profit, and all installations will be completed at the cost of materials and labor. Cost will vary by project depending on the location of the nearest power supply. The best way to get this information is by calling the Overton Power District No. 5 Engineering Department. See the contact list in this brochure for an engineer in your area. 3. Can I use a contractor for my project? OPD has a non-compete attitude toward work that does not affect our system integrity. Customers are encouraged to seek multiple bids from licensed contractors for the installation of underground and secondary power. To further clarify what portions of your project can be completed by a contractor contact an engineer in your area. 4. How long does it take to get power? It generally takes two (2) to four (4) weeks after plans have been submitted to the Engineering Department for service to be connected. If your project requires equipment that OPD does not have in its inventory, please see question 6 referencing equipment lead times. 5. What is the process to get power? This brochure contains a check list of requirements for new customers. You can also view the OPD Construction standards and specifications book at: www.opd5.com/specs 6. Upon payment, how long does it take to get electrical equipment? Typically, transformers and switches take two (2) to three (3) months once the order is placed. Lead times for equipment may vary. 7. Below are the transformer sizes (min/max) available from OPD. Single Phase, 50 KVA - 167 KVA 120/240 Three Phase 75 KVA - 500 KVA 120/208 Three Phase 75 KVA - 1500 KVA 277/480 RENEWABLE GENERATION & REBATE LIMITS Small Commercial Generator Size: The sum total of installed generation for small commercial customers shall be limited to a maximum of 10 kW. Customer generation exceeding 10 kW is permitted only by special contract with the District. The OPD rebate is up to $2,500 and is in addition to any state or federal rebates. Large Commercial Generator Size: The sum total of installed generation for large commercial customers shall be limited to a maximum of 25 kW. Customer generation exceeding 25 kW is permitted only by special contract with the District. The OPD rebate is up to $5,000 and is in addition to any state or federal rebates. NEW CONSTRUCTION CHECKLIST

☐ A completed application for service. ☐ A parcel number and/or street address of the service

location. ☐ Voltage and load size in amps. Load size is equal to

main breaker rating. ☐ For a new installation we will need a plot map. The

plot map can be on a disk in Auto Cad 2010 or newer format, or can be sent by e-mail to an Engineer. If the property is in an existing sub division, a copy of your surveyed plot map is sufficient.

☐ When you have everything that is listed above contact one of the Staking Engineer’s listed below for an appointment. Please bring all the previous documents to your appointment with the Engineer.

☐ Pay Engineering fee if applicable. Engineering will not be done until fees are paid.

☐ Determine applicable connection fees. ☐ A job estimate will be provided to you when

Engineering is done with the design for your project. ☐ Upon receipt of your job estimate, please review.

Contact Engineering if there are any design conflicts that may need to be resolved.

☐ Pay the job estimate and connection fees in full. No work will be done until job estimate and impact fees are paid.

☐ Engineers will complete the project staking. ☐ A staking map and notice will be issued to you from

Overton Power to proceed. ☐ You may begin electrical installation. ☐ Inspections must be scheduled two (2) working days
