We found that one priority is to improve
the access road into the property so that
we can drive all the way to the area we
have cleared.
We rented a brush hog which
worked great for cutting through
the wall of wild blackberry vines
and bushes that blocked our
access to Shoal Creek.
We were able to clear a path to the
creek which allowed many of us our
first glimpse of the property along the
creek.
It was exciting to see how
beautiful the property is
along the creek.
We used smaller trimmers
and cutters to clear some of
the brush and trees.
Some work was done using
the lopping shears.
We had a great day of fellowship! We
are blessed to be surrounded by such
wonderful people at WoG Lutheran!
The weather finally cooperated enough to call an impromptu work day at our property on Hwy. 34 in
Coweta County, Volunteers that had signed up for work on the property were called and we had a
good turn out considering such short notice!!! The goal for this work day was to clear enough to see
what we had to work with on the site and determine what to do to make the site accessible so that
everyone who wants to has a chance to see the property.

Property Updates
Site DedicationOur short term goal is to have an onsite dedication service and celebration, hopefully in the next few months. At that time we would like to be able to provide golf cart tours of the property and have fellowship activities (port-a-potty provided). This will take a few more days of work. You can sign up to help on the tear off from Sunday’s bulletin or by emailing Roy at [email protected]. We will also need help for planning the dedication. We will have more information on that in the future!
Mark Your Calendars for April 11Weather permitting we will have a short work day with time for fellowship to follow. We will start at 9:00 AM and plan on working until about 1:00 PM. Then we will break for lunch and enjoy the fruits of our labor. Volunteers will provide lunch for the workers and all are welcome to bring a picnic lunch and join us!
We want people to see the land and help map our vision for how we can use it in the near future as well as when we build our new Church. Look for more information in emails as the date gets closer! There have been many ideas presented already on how we can use the property while we prepare to build. With God’s help we will try to discern what it is he wants us to do with the property. We all want to be good stewards of the gifts we have been given.

Newnan-Coweta Habitat for Humanity, Inc.
Founded in January of 1994, Newnan-Coweta Habitat
for Humanity (NCHFH) has completed more than
70 homes to date. These houses are now “home” for
many local adults and children. Through great
community support, NCHFH has steadily increased
the number of new houses built each year. Using
volunteer labor and tax deductible donations of
money and materials, NCHFH builds homes in
partnership with future homeowner families and
provides a “hand up” rather than a “hand out”.
Word of God is now supporting NCHFH’s 2015 Faith
Build with their first annual build project for a home
currently under construction at 2 Midland Park,
Newnan, GA which started March 7th. The Mission
Outreach Ministry (M.O.M.) Team on behalf of Word
of God Lutheran Church made a $2000 donation for
the purchase of cabinets for this 3-bedroom/2-bath
home. The home will be occupied by a single mother
with two children and a Home Blessing is scheduled
for April 25 at the scheduled completion of this
project.

On March 22 our congregation participated in the Lutheran World Relief Baby Care Kit Ministry. We assembled 120 baby care kits consisting of receiving blankets, baby gowns, t-shirts, cloth diapers, socks, towels, hooded jackets, and soap. All items were purchased using Word of God Mission Outreach Ministry funds. This year our kits will reach mothers coping with war, disaster, disease and poverty in Armenia, Georgia, Peru, Tanzania, and the Philippines. Thanks to everyone who helped assemble the kits and a special thank you to Diane Lattimore for shopping for many of the necessary items.
