National Dutch Show Rules and Regulations

This is an official ARBA and ADRC sanctioned show. The latest revised rules of the ARBA and ADRC will govern the show. Entering the show indicates your acceptance of these rules.

EntriesShow Entry Fees:

1-10 Entries: $8.00 11-20 Entries: $7.75 21-50 Entries: $7.50 51+ Entries: $7.00

* Sliding scale based on number shown per Exhibitor.

Additional Entry Fees: Fur: $3 Sale Coops: $3 AOV: $7 Friday Fun Class: $5

Entries are due on or before April 13, 2015.

Entries must indicate the variety, class, sex and Ear number of each rabbit.Ear numbers may be changed at no charge upon check-in.

Your entry must indicate if it is Open or Youth. All entries not specifically marked as Youth will be assumed to beOpen entries and cannot be changed after April 14th.

Sale coops will be available. Sale coops cost $3 each. Must be prepaid, and the number paying for must be Included on the entry form. Sales Coops are limited to the same number as regular show entries.

No entry refunds.

Hours

The showroom will be open Thursday, April 23rd from 4:00 – 10:00 pm to accept entries. The showroom will reopen at 6:00 am on Saturday April 25th. All animals must be in the showroom, check in by 10:00 pm, and cooped by 11 pm Friday, April 24th. Animals will be released on Sunday, April 26th from 6 am to 11 am. Animals left in the showroom after 11 am Sunday become the property of the Ohio State Dutch Rabbit Club. Please check that you have the correct rabbit when you are leaving.

Tear down will begin at 9:00 am, please make sure that you have all rabbits out of their coops by 9:00 am.

1. Exhibitors are responsible for caring for their own rabbits. All rabbits must be permanently and legibly ear marked or they will be disqualified from competition.

2. Any animal showing signs of sickness or disease will be removed from the building/showroom- as determined by the superintendent.

3. While every precaution will be taken to ensure the safety of exhibitors and animals, all entries are made at the owner’s risk. Show personnel, judging staff, carriers, show officials, show staff, and the Roberts Centre are in no way responsible for the death, threat, or injury of any animals or exhibitors.

4. In order to receive any specials offered by the American Dutch Rabbit Club, exhibitors must be membersof the OSDRC.

5. Parents are responsible for their children at all times.

6. Grooming tables and chairs should not block isles. OSDRC does not allow animals under ARBA minimum breed weight in the show barn.

7. Interpretation of the show rules will be by the show officials.

8. No smoking will be permitted in the showroom.

Open and Youth Fur Classes

The open and youth fur classes will be judged on Friday night. All rabbits entered in fur must be entered in theregular show. Fur entries must be pre-entered on the regular entry form. All open fur entries will be judged as asingle class and all youth fur entries will be judged as a single class. The top placing rabbit of each variety winsbest fur of that variety and the top placing rabbit in the class will be awarded best overall fur winner. Rabbitsdisqualified in the regular show will also be disqualified from the fur class. Exhibitors are responsible for carryingtheir own rabbits to the show table, unless other arrangements have been made.

AOV Class

This class will consist of any variety of Dutch not currently recognized by the ARBA. Pre-enter on registration form. Entry fee: $7.00 per animal. AOV must be pre-entered with regular NDS entries. Open and youth compete together.

The banquet will be held up the hall from the showroom.

We hope all can join us for this evening of fun as we honor the winners from the show and youth contests.

Friday Night Fun Classes

AOVAny non-recognized variety of Dutch. Pre-enter on some entry blank as regular show. Entry fee will be $7.00/hd.

Judging will be Friday evening following the Fur Class.

Breeder's ChoiceThe breeder chooses one animal to exhibit. Judged as one class. This will be broken down based on exhibitor's age. The breakdown will be as follows:

Breeder's Choice Junior – those 35 and younger.

Breeder's Choice Senior – those over 35.

Entry fee will be $5.00

Paybacks will be given as follows: 1st – 50% of the Entry Fee2nd – 20%3rd – 10%.

Best of Breed and Best Opposite. A 3D trophy will be made of the winners of Best of Breed and Best Opposite in both Open and Youth Classes. The trophy will be shipped to the owner after the show.

Youth Royalty Contest Completed Entry Form Must Be Submitted By March 27, 2015

Open to all OSDRC members under the age of 19 (as of 04/23/15)

Divisions: King & Queen: 15 to 19 years of age

Duke & Duchess: 12 to 14 years of age

Prince & Princess: 9 to 11 years of age

The Written Application includes the questions listed on the enclosed application form. Please include a photograph with your name and ageon the back of the photo. The written application will be scored by two different judges and the two scores averaged to determine the final

score.

Written Test (200 points)

The questions for the test will be taken from the OSDRC Guidebook, OSDRC Constitution & Bi-Laws, current Dutch Standard & from thegeneral rabbit raising articles in the ARBA Guidebook.

Oral Interview (200 points)

Immediately following showmanship, the judge shall conduct an oral interview of each contestant. Questions should allow the contestant totalk about their experience raising Dutch rabbits. Scoring is as follows:

Background & Experience 40 points

Personal Contribution to Industry 40 points

Achievements & Leadership 40 points

Attitude (voice & attitude) 40 points

Clarity in Giving Information 30 points

Appearance of contestant 10 points

Showmanship (100 points)

Contestants are expected to be properly dressed for showmanship. Showmanship points will be awarded as follows:

Youth Judging & Showmanship Contest

◦ Participants in the Royalty Contest are automatically entered in the Judging & Showmanship Contest, however and Youth may participate in these without entering Royalty.

Rules for Judging Contest

◦ This is a timed event with seven minutes allowed per class.

◦ Placements will be made on special forms provided.

Arts & Crafts Exhibition

The categories for this year's Arts & Crafts exhibition are:

Drawings/PaintingsPhotography

Quilting/SewingAny other craft

◦ All entries must have a Dutch rabbit visible on the item.

◦ Items must be an original entry by the participant.

◦ Entries will be accepted on Friday & Saturday mornings & must be in place no later than 10:00 am.

◦ Judging will be Saturday at noon and awards will be displayed on the projects.

◦ All ehibitis must be picked up on Sunday by 9:00 am.

◦ Pick up Entry Form at the show. Use one entry form per exhibitor. Forms may be duplicated.

◦ Entry fee is $2.00/entry.

◦ All entries may be available for sale at the discretion of the owner. This constitutes a private treaty between the buyer and seller.

◦ Awards will be given to first, second and third place of each category in the Open and Youth.

◦ A display area for Arts & Crafts will be set up but will not be staffed. The National Dutch Show staff and the OSDRC will not be responsible for the loss of or damage to any Arts & Crafts items displayed.

Rules to Govern “Seller’s Class”

1. All entries in this class are subject to sale to the highest bidder.2. A minimum bid of $20.00 is to be set.3. A 50/50 payback to consignors and the American Dutch Rabbit Club will be in effect. (Consigners may

donate their share to the ADRC).4. No entry fee required for the Seller’s Class.5. Maximum of 25 entries for each open and youth.6. Rabbits may or may not be register eligible.7. Seller’s Class rabbits do not have to be entered in the show, but they can be.8. All rabbits must have an accompanying pedigree. None will be accepted without pedigree and

permanent legible ear number.9. The Seller’s Class will be judged as one without regard to age, sex, or variety. The Dutch Breed

Standard will be the judging guide.10. A youth Seller’s Class will precede the Open Seller’s Class.11. Seller’s Class will be held at the conclusion of all judging.12. The winner of the Seller’s Class receives a trophy from the ADRC as well as a $20.00 ADRC Gift card.13. The exhibitor of the highest selling price rabbit will win a $20.00 ADRC gift certificate. (No duplication of

awards will be given if the rabbit wins the class and is also the highest priced animal.)14. The Seller’s Class Committee reserves the right to reject any sick, injured or poor quality animals.15. PLEASE ENTER QUALITY ANIMALS ONLY. THIS CAN ONLY BENEFIT ALL CONCERNED.16. Limit of two (2) entries per exhibitor. If a trio or pair is entered, one designated Dutch rabbit of the

combination will be judged. A trio or pair counts as one entry in this class.17. Entries will have their cages marked with ADRC Seller’s Class Tag. Those wishing to examine the entry

should contact the exhibitor to seek permission prior to the Seller’s Class.18. Pedigrees will be available for viewing in the binder at the Dutch booth prior to the class.
