Reports from March: Funds and Fundraising — we learnt earlier in the year that we are not flush with funds, although we seems to have experienced a welcome increase in our bank account recently, and at this stage we do not have any firm plans for raising funds in addition to our two plant sales this year — which will have to be well supported to allow us to continue with all that we do. More members, and more ideas are needed!!!!! Membership and Publicity — (i) look to those who have been to RYLA; (ii) look to Rotaractors; (iii) publicise our meetings in The Bush Telegraph; (iv) improve and use our website; (v) use Facebook etc.; (vi) invite ex-members to meetings; (vii) reintroduce ‘factory visits’ and invite visi-tors to those occasions; (viii) welcome new residents to Berowra. District Conference 2015 — 20 to 22 March, Crown Plaza Hunter Valley

BowelCare (formerly Bowelscan) is in its 25th year of service in

Rotary District 9685. In order for the Program to continue its

growth and benefit the community, Clubs in our Rotary District

are asked to promote bowel cancer awareness by

    participating in the BowelCare Program.

We will publicise this outside Coles Supermarket.

    Object of BowelCare

    1. Develop a Community Awareness of the nature of bowel cancer.

    2. Earlier detection of potential or actual bowel cancer.

Berowra Rotary will once again participate in this important Community Service project from 2 May to 27 June 2015.

    PE Tom Borg

Mothers Day Plant Sale: Hunt Reserve has been booked for Saturday 9 May (and Saturday 5 Septem-ber). Susan Hunter is having fun and success potting succulents and would appreciate donations of 6/8cm terracotta pots (shallow).

Berowra Rotary will once again sponsor a student to the NYSF in Canberra in January 2016. NYSF is unique in Australia. Students during year11 are selected to attend the NYSF the following year. They learn how to make informed decisions about courses and careers in the sciences and gain a professional skill set to help them realise their potential.

Pride of Workmanship/Community Service Awards: Berowra Rotary Awards will be presented on a date in May TBA - please consider worthy awardees in both categories and present these to the Board. This is one of our showcase

nights and it is wonderful to be able to honour these people who do good in the com-munity, and those who show pride in the workplace.
