COMMUNICATIONWorld-renowned leadership expert, John C. Maxwell, says if you want to succeed, you must learn how to connect with people. And while it may seem like some folks are just born with it, the fact is anyone can learn how to make every communication an opportunity for a powerful con-nection. Have you ever wondered why some people seem to move forward in their careers while you seem stuck? Do you get along with people? Do your kids pay attention to you? Does it seem like no one is listening to what you say? How can you make your words make a difference? In this workshop you will receive proven principles and practices so you can connect one-on-one or in a group. You will see all your relations, from your boss to your kids, from your teammates to your neighbors, take a quantum leap in this 4-hour workshop. This is a prepay class. Auto and Homeowners In the early to mid 1980’s there was a movement to make insurance policies easy to read by the average consumer. Today, primarily as a result of litigation, contract wording seems to be swinging back toward “hard to read”. Sev-eral wording changes will be examined so the agent will be prepared for wording changes in policies that he sells.

Personal Umbrella Today consumers have a tremendous need for personal umbrella policies. The early forms contained only four or five exclusions but today they very commonly have 20 to 25. The provisions and exclusions in these policies, as with other personal lines forms are more involved and harder to understand. Several current provisions will be examined so the agent will be prepared to best serve his clients liability needs.

GAP Tuition Assistance ProgramWhat is GAP Tuition Assistance Program?

The GAP Tuition Assistance Program provides tuition assistance to eligible applicants enrolling in an approved Continuing Education non-credit certificate training program. These programs are for in-demand occupations in the areas of information technology, advanced manufacturing, transportation & logistics, bio & life sciences, and allied health. Certificates earned will increase the skills of the workforce. Non-credit certificate programs are not eligible for federal financial aid, this program bridges the funding gap for those students pursuing short-term certificates. Funding for eligible applicants is provided through Indian Hills Community College Customized Learning.

Eligibility Depending on your financial eligibility, you may receive full or partial assistance with your direct training costs, including tuition, books, and required fees. Eligibility is determined by assessing family income for the 12 months prior to application date, family size, and Co. of residence. All approved participants must be eligible to work in the United States.

Application Process Contact IowaWORKS at 641-684-5401 ext. 40023 and ask about the GAP Tuition Assistance Program. We want to ensure your success in the training program and in finding employment after program completion. As part of the application and review process, applicants will be required to complete the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) assessment.

• Applied Mathematics – involved the application of mathematical reasoning, critical thinking and problem solving techniques to work related problems.

What are the Certificate Levels? Bronze Certification – awarded to individuals who score at or above a level three in each of the core areas. The bronze level makes you eligible for 30 percent of available positions.
