PATRIOT DAY

Fall is comingLeaves are fallingChanging colorsSoftly blowing.

Leaves are fallingLeaves are fallingTo the groundWithout a sound.

Days are getting shorter

Nights are growing longer

Winter isn’t far awayBut it’s getting colder

every day.

As summer draws its final breath

To prepare its curtain call

The butterflies begin their final trek

To usher in the fall.

THANKS-GIVING

Fall is a great time of the year,When it leaves it sends me to tears,The birdies fly west,Away from their nest,Grizzlies get into a sleepy mood,While the chipmunks frantically store their food,The leaves fall off the trees, And leave me with one pesky sneeze!

TELL A FAIRYTALE DAY

BOY SCOUT DAY

As the winter started to unfold,The air started to get a little cold.Everything was pure whiteYou wouldn’t believe what you saw in sight! As the kids had fun in the snow,They were covered in snow from head to toe. They all started to come inside“That was so much fun!” they all replied.“I like to sled,” said the little boy.The little girl said, “It brings me joy.”

It was eight o’clock and time for bed.Another day passed, it was one with a sled. They climbed in bed and snuggled up tight. It was all silent throughout the night. No sounds were made,As the day started to fade,They slept until the sun rose,And that’s just how February goes!

FIRST DAYOF SPRING

Sprouting buds on the trees, beautiful flowers swinging in the breeze.Pretty flowers on the ground, flowers, flowers all around.Ripe berries on a bush, please nobody step on them or they’ll smush.I love the birds’ beautiful song, finally the winter is gone!New plants growing up, up, up, their buds as big as little cups.Growing strong as they can be, I love the new born tree.

FIRST DAY OF SUMMER

FLAG DAY

FATHER’S DAY

June is the month that promises change.Graduation, jobs, life rearranged.Weddings, honeymoons, vows and

dreams.June holds days of futures unseen.

Beach vacations, waves lapping on sand. The romance of walking hand in hand.Roller coasters and amusement parks. Crowds and sun on a bright boardwalk.

June makes us think summer never will end.

But it slips through our fingers once again.

Students have three days to turn in a written excuse for an absence or it will be declared unexcused. Three consecutive days of absence must be accompanied by a doctor’s excuse. If a student is going to be absent, parents are asked to call the school between 7:45 and 9:30 a.m. to report the absence. If a student is absent and no call is received, the school health aide calls the student’s home to determine the reason for the absence. In this way, both parents and school officials can cooperate to help ensure that every student is either in school or at home under the supervision of parents.Telephone numbers to report student absences are:• Beaver-Main Elementary School: 570-784-0309• W.W.
