ANGIER CLUB GOT

RIGHT TO WORK..

• A three hour seminar for caregivers at

Angier United Methodist Church

• Tools and resources as well as

communication techniques were taught

and role played

• Tables were staffed by Alzheimers/NC,

Harnett Division of Aging, Harnett

Home Health, Area Respite Care

Facilities, Damsels in Defense,

Transitions Lifecare...

FIVE DURHAM CLUBS

Organized an event in honor of caregivers who give so much

selfless care and love everyday

Over 46 caregivers and loved ones were treated to a catered

lunch with music, fellowship and fun

Wonderful raffle prizes were collected to add an element of fun

and suspense

WENDELL & ZEBULONHad an ice cream social with Gospel Singing at local Alzheimer’s Unit

MUSIC TOUCHED EACH ONE

WAKEFIELD & NORTH RALEIGH

spent an afternoon at Abbotswood, an

assisted care living facility for seniors –

some with Alzheimer’s.

Bingo, ice cream, a live band and dancing

were enjoyed by residents & Rotarians alike!

Assembled Various Activity Interest Kits for a Memory

Care Unit at Carillon Assisted Living of Hillsborough

DURHAM SUNRISE

Volunteered at the Memory Café at the Jewish

Community Center

APEX SUNRISE

Coordinated the showing of the movie: “Alive Inside” with

plans for the Area 8 clubs to embark on a music and memory

offering to Wake County care facilities

HOLLY SPRINGS

Started passing the CART bucket at their meetings

for the FIRST time

CONSIDER THE IMPACT OF

RESPONDING TO A

CHALLENGE

...In one year new programs began, hundreds of

volunteer hours performed, commitments were made

and relationships formed. Rotarians got involved and

made a difference!
