Professional Leadership Advisory Council (PLAC) Meeting3/21/2014
9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Rhonda Powers, Professional Learning Coordinator/GaTAPP Coordinator:
Topic Specifics Information to Deadlines Handouts
Welcome
Karen Love – Scholastic
A Big Thank You to Karen Love for her presentation for Scholastic and the sample packs she provided each system.
SLO Platform Barbara Hannaford will share “how-to” tips on using the SLO platform.
You must include a Growth Target for every SLO.Example Growth Target:
0-35% increase of 54%36-53% increase of 64%54-64% increase of 75%
Superintendents, Curriculum Directors
None None
Above 65% will improve by growth by at least ½ of what would be required to improve to 100. Based on a 100 point scale.
Formula:100-65-35; 35/2=17.5; 17.5 +65=82.5Round to 83
You will need to provide a historical trend for each SLO. This may be based on end of course testing but you must provide this information. This creates the Baseline Data. The data needs to be along the lines of content and you would make revisions as necessary.
SLOS As of this time, we are not planning to schedule another RESA-wide SLO Development session for this year.If a system needs assistance from a RESA Coordinator please contact as soon as possible to schedule this.Stacy Lutz will be sending Mrs. Peggy Coastal Plains SLOs.Our RESA is the only one that has their SLOs listed on Share Point.
WBL SLO-Dr. Brantley had a conference call with Michelle Purvis and was instructed that if a teacher is placed in

the position for WBL only (Not doing any direct instruction) they do not need to do a SLO, they would be considered a contributing professional.

Introduction to GaTAPPJuly 21
GaTAPP candidates are required to attend New Employee Induction. This may be only a ½ day but will have more information as the date approaches.
Changes for FY 15:- edTPA (Educator Teacher Performance Assessment) – all candidates will take this portfolio-based assessment. The assessment will be locally scored and there is no cost this year. The portfolios will be sent off for official scoring (cost of $300 per candidate – not included in tuition).
