Sir,I yesterday attended to Masters Preston warehouse as I had been the previous day to masters

(near Dear Park) and purchased all galvanized water pipes that went out on special for $1.00each. However, I discovered that at Preston it wasn’t that simple at all.10Firstly, little stickers indicated some kind of stock taking had taken place. But, when I checked

the pipes at the location I found different lengths and different bar codes all together. In fact Ifound that pipes were marked with the same bar codes even so they were different in length anddifferent marked products. As such, whomever printed the labels in error printed different

products with the same bar code. And whomever at Masters does the shelving never picked up15that the pipes where of considerable different lengths.For masters, it means that either pipes were sold at the shorter length and so loss of profits or thecustomer was duped to be sold shorter lengths at the longer pipe price.I will not produce some pictures as to prove my point.

For the record I spend about 1 hours going through the pipes in the compartment, having to go to10the service desk to check the prices and only found one for $1.00 in between them. Then I







noticed some stored above (between the spare stock) of 1.2 metres and I took them, as they were$2.00 each. Later staff alerted me (as I talked about the other $1.00 pipes) that they also werestored on top of the racking. I then made known I would take them all.After all, for some 12 years (I have patience) I have been looking to replace water pipes and sowanted them cheap. Lengths are no issue to me as I have ample connections to make them in5total to what I need them for under the house. For the warehouse however it is that when itreduces stock to clear it and staff doesn’t place it on display then Masters may reduce pricesfurther in the believe it doesn’t attack customers or that the lengths are undesirable, whereasreally the issue is staff failing to place it on display. It is only that because at another Mastersstore I saw them on display and purchased the all I knew of the clearance prices and for this10attended to Masters Preston warehouse.I noticed that there were 2 BIDET for sale reduced from $149.00 to $50.00 but advised by staffno fittings were being sold. I offered $70.00 for the both Bidets and a person claiming to be theacting manager then commented to me that masters was not a discount store or a market whereyou could ask for lower prices. To me that was not an appropriate comment because it may be in15the interest of masters to clear stock at an ever further reduced price rather than having usingspace and may unlikely be sold considering no fittings are available. My 81 year old wife alwayswanted a Bidet, and I just have to figure out how to get the fittings in a way she can use it. In this

case I purchased 1 Bidet, but still my offer stands to pay another $20 for the second Bidet.20

Staff advised me that they simply used an empty box for this product.As I grabbed an item from this box because of the picture on the box and then discovered it to bethe wrong product I do not like the idea having to check the content of a box for the right item. Ifthere is a picture on a box then this should be corresponding to the content or a black markershould be used to cross through the picture or remove the picture as to avoid customer confusion.5This all means that stock taking will not be correct. Also it will so to say throw out any salesrecords or customer demands because the figures will not show what really was sold.

10The 2 pictures on the right are from a Bunnings store. I wonder if staff at masters are taken fromBunnings and not retrained to make sure they understand the importance of safety andhousekeeping in general?

This is clearly a safety and housekeeping issue and staff should never leave any kind of mobile15stand recklessly blocking safe passage. In case of any emergency this can result in possibleinjuries if not death. Staff should be instructed to leave minimum passage and to place mobile

platforms securely away.

Never ignore the fact that where an accident eventuates then ultimately the manager in charge20will have to explain why he/she allowed such situation to exist. And insurance premiums mayincrease as result!
