TWTC Nangang Exhibition Hall and

TWTC Exhibition Hall 1.

This 4-in-1 mega show is poised to

break the record for the largest exhibi-

tion to be held in Taiwan. With 1,346

exhibitors setting up 3,665 booths, the

four shows are expected to attract 7,000

foreign buyers and reel in US$600

million in business revenue. This ex-

hibition is also expected to increase

the number of international and local

visitors to over 60,000, making it one

of the most diverse Asian auto and mo-

torcycle B2B exhibitions for buyers.

Taipei AMPA Reaches30 Years of Partnership

with the Auto Parts Industry

After years of hard work, Taiwan-

ese automobile parts and accessories

industry is highly recognized by inter-

national manufacturers and automotive

aftermarket no matter in the aspect of

security, stability or the innovational

capability. It is the industry that has a

stable growing rate in export, in 2013,

the export value had reached US$6.6

billion with a growth of a billion com-

paring to 2012. In sight of this positive

progress, from merely 111 exhibitors

with 185 booths in 1984 at Taipei

Songshan airport, Taipei AMPA has

expanded to nearly a thousand exhibi-

tors participated in the show using 2,871

booths this year. It isn’t hard to see the

tremendous leap of the industry by 15

times of growth.

Taipei AMPA, held every April,

is one of the most anticipated annual

events in the auto parts industry. Jaguar

Precision Industry, Sonar Auto Parts,

Eagle Eyes, TFT Racing, TYC Broth-

ers, TW Racing Parts, Taiwan Bor-Ch-

uann Enterprise, Nankang Rubber Tire,

Taiwan Yuasa and many others are

expected to showcase their products’

revolutionary materials and features

in the four main categories of Taipei

AMPA 2014. The four categories this

year are Auto Parts, Auto Accessories,

Tuning and Restyling and Repair &

Maintenance.

Taiwan’s world-leading informa-

tion and communications technology

(ICT) industry provides auto electron-

ics makers with strong R&D advan-

tages to challenge the global market.

Combining cloud computing with the

eco-friendly trend, auto electronics

makers are able to launch innovative

products quickly— products with high

performance capabilities and energy

efficiency. Many tier-one automotive-

electronic suppliers will join the show,

including Tung Thih Electronic,

E-Lead Electronic, JET Optoelectron-

ics, Mobiletron Electronics and so on.

The wide variety of innovative prod-

ucts will make this year’s AutoTronics

show all the more appealing for global

buyers.

Motorcyclists’ Accessories Area to be Highly Anticipated

New Section

This year, the Taiwan International

Motorcycle Show will not only show-

case models, parts and accessories, it

will also add motorcyclists’ accesso-

ries. Companies that have participated

in the exhibition for many year, include

NCY, Yih Jing Traffic Industrial and

King Tony. This year, more exhibitors

will showcase their motorcyclists’ ac-

cessories, the highlight of the show,

including SBK Racing Sports and THH

Exustar, just to name a couple.

Green Energy Trend at EV Taiwan to Lead the World to an Eco-

friendly Future

The rise of the eco-friendly green

energy trend in the global market

means electric vehicles are now a key

area of development in many countries.

This year’s EV Taiwan show features

many exhibitors, including leading

local EV makers such as Pihsiang

Electric Vehicle, Dijiya Energy Saving

Tech and Chumpo Eco-Tech, to name

just a few, who will bring with them

their latest electric vehicle products.

It is particularly inspiring to note

that Tesla Motors’ suppliers, including

electric motor maker Fukuta Elec. &

Mach., electrical-mechanical control

module maker Chroma ATE and auto

fastener maker Sumeeko Industries

will all be taking part in the 4th EV

Taiwan show this year.

Apart from the already highlighted

companies, Tatung, a household name

in Taiwan, will show for the first time

an electric vehicle motor it has devel-

oped for all kinds of transport uses at

EV Taiwan. The wide range of prod-

ucts from EV exhibitors will make this

year’s show all the more interesting.

meet face-to-face in the one-on-one

procurement meetings, creating op-

I n order to encourage Taiwanese com-

panies to focus more on product re-

search and development, as well as to

boost competitiveness, the Taiwan External

Trade Development Council (TAITRA)

has organized the 2014 AMPA & Auto-

Tronics’ Innovation Awards.

The annual event not only inspires out-

standing innovations but also attracts many

buyers to the wide selection of avant-garde

inventions. All the award-winning products

are exhibited in the innovation awards area

on the 4th floor of the TWTC Nangang

(Area L, lobby — Light Gallery) with pro-

fessional guides to give in-depth explana-

tions of each product.

Following a process of aggressive

competition and tough evaluations of nu-

merous outstanding products, the judges

have selected a total of 20 products in

four categories: auto parts, auto accesso-

ries, autotronics and auto electronic end

products.

Amid these entries, 13 are already pat-

ented and four of them are in the process of

submitting patent applications. Judges have

expressed positive comments about these

products, saying “the majority of fi rms are

quite innovative. It’s not hard to have mass

production with these products with the as-

sistance and support from the government

and resources provided by legal (entities).”

Among the award-winning companies,

some of them have already made their

way to major world manufacturers. In

this regard, Taiwan’s growing soft pow-

er certainly cannot be underestimated. ■
