2014 Photography Career Exhibit Print Themes UNIT II: CAREER EXHIBIT PRINT: Explore a career as a pet photographer. Pet

photographers know just how much pet owners love their animals and capturing pets in print is a great way to honor that relationship. Capture photos of your favorite pets and consider creative locations and whimsical props for your photo shoots. UNIT III: CAREER EXHIBIT PRINT: Explore a career as an editorial photogra-

pher. Editorial photographers take pictures that highlight the topics being written about in books, magazines, and newspapers. Editorial photos should be creative, powerful images that tell an intriguing story. Capture editorial photos that tell Nebraska’s story.

The 2014 Special Garden Project is Amaranthus Cauda-

tus (Love-Lies-Bleeding). The flower has brilliant red

seed heads that dangle like shimmering ruby necklaces.

Plants gets between 3 to 5 feet tall. The flowers work

great in arrangements as fresh cut or dried.

4-H’ers will need to enroll in the Special Garden Pro-

ject. They will receive seeds for the Love-Lies-Bleeding

(one “packet” per youth) in early April and a flyer about

planting and growing conditions. 4-H members are able

to enter these flowers at County and State Fair. We

need to know by January 30 if you want a seed packet

so go to Special Garden Seed Sign Up to get on the list

for the 2014 seeds. We are asking you to sign up by

family.
