2014 FDA mANUALThe FDA Compliance Manual is a 52-page comprehensive manual to under-standing the FDA as it applies to Orthotic and Prosthetic Professionals. Specifically, this manual focuses on FDA’s authority over medical devices and Good Manufac-turing Practices (GMPs) required under 21 C.F.R. 820 “Quality System Regula-tion.” The manual includes background information related to the question of whether GMPs apply to O&P patient care facilities and why AOPA believes FDA’s GMP regulations do not apply to O&P patient care facilities. The manual also provides useful guidance on how to comply with the GMP regulation, in combination with a GMP Self-Inspec-tion Package, FDA Compliance GMP Storyboard and a copy of the applicable regulation. In addition, there is a section which provides specific details on what to do if an FDA investigator appears on the premises to conduct an investigation. Provided electronically.
