Welcome from the Chairman & Executive Director

MissionStatement

The Tiffin Charitable Foundation is a community trust

for charitable and educational purposes to assist and promote

the well-being of the citizens of the City of Tiffin and Seneca County, Ohio.

Dear Friends,In 2014 we went ice-skating on the Courthouse lawn and we strolled through Tiffin in horse-drawn carriages. We listened to jazz musicians beneath the shade trees on Frost Parkway and we helped our neighbors build a new playground at Washington School. We hiked existing park trails and we committed grant funds to the construction of new trails that will connect Downtown Tiffin to Hedges-Boyer Park. We provided scholarship funds to send our area grads off to further their educations. We built houses and we provided utility assistance for those in need. We did all of these things and more thanks to the amazing generosity of you and your neighbors! It is your support that is making it possible for The Tiffin Charitable Foundation to have genuine impact in Tiffin and Seneca County.

With sincere gratitude,

Eric Shook,Chairman, Board of Trustees

Dear Mark,I have a seven year old son who was diagnosed with Type One Diabetes when he was two. This past month I was unable to afford his insulin. I contacted Pat DeMonte (of United Way) for help and she informed me of the fund you and your wife set up. I can’t thank you enough! My son has insulin for the next three months thanks to you. I’m so grateful and I promise to pay it forward in the future! Thanks!J&L

The Tiffin Charitable

Foundation awarded more than $80,000 in

scholarships for the 2013-2014 school year to Tiffin

and Seneca Countystudents.

The Barbara N. Somers Scholarship Fund of The Tiffin Charitable FoundationThe Barbara N. Somers Scholarship Fund of the Tiffin Charitable Foundation was established by her family in 2006, to perpetuate her memory. Mrs. Somers died in 2000 at the age of 64 years. She was a 1953 graduate of Calvert High School, member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Calvert Touchdown Club. Her seven surviving children and husband determined that the purpose of her fund would be to provide high school tuition scholarships for students attending Calvert High School in Tiffin, Ohio. We recently received this beautiful letter along with a contribution to the Somers Fund.

To The Barbara Somers Scholarship FundPlease accept this donation from the Calvert Class of 2009 in memory of their classmate and friend Kyle M. Garrison. Although our family never knew Barbara, Kyle and our family were positively impacted by her children and grandchildren. My son Kyle said many times how much he loved and admired the Somers family. Kyle was proud to call them his friends. May this donation help to form more good citizens of our community.Sincerely,Ann, Erin and Katie Garrison
