Charity Committee BEAR NECESSITIES DAY
SEPTEMBER 12
Friday, September 12th has been proclaimed Bear Necessities Day by Mayor Emanuel and Governor Quinn!We are planning a special
awareness initiative and we need your help! We will be displaying 15,500
pairs of shoes in Daley Plaza to represent the number of children
diagnosed with cancer each year.

75 volunteers are needed for set up & tear-down of the event: Shift 1: 7 am - 9 am to deliver shoes and set up display in the plaza
Shift 2: 6 pm- 8 pm to break down the display and load the shoes for a charity Share your
Soles after the event!
20 Volunteers needed from 9 am- 5 pm in three shifts: Shift 1: 9 am - 12 noon
Shift 2: 12 noon - 3 pm
Shift 3: 3 pm - 6 pm
to help us with run the event and pass out flyers with important Bear Necessities marketing and
pediatric cancer awareness information!

Come join us in Lincoln Park on October 26th for our 2014 inaugural A Walk for the Bear "A Beary
Spooky Stroll". We will need 40 volunteers to staff information tables and run the event 8 am - 2 pm. Come
