Mission Statement The mission of Abell Junior High School's
administration and staff is IN THE PURSUIT OF EXCELLENCE for all
students and staff. Abell Junior High School will strive to remove
any financial, language or other barriers which could prevent or
hinder a student from participating in all school activities.
Vision Abell Junior High School administration and staff will work
in conjunction with the community and parents toward creating a

Goal 1: MISD will support high academic standards.
Performance Objective 1: 100% of Abell's core academic classes will
use the Cornell note-taking strategy as well as cooperative
learning tools to prepare them for rigorous coursework in their
current and future academic career. Teachers will use the

1 2 1 Abell will use tutorials to allow teachers to re-teach
material and for students to re-do assignments, as well as students
work to be re-assessed. Abell staff will provide in the school day
intervention for students who are identified through district and
classroom assessments.

in an intervention class in lieu of an additional elective for Math
and English.

monitor student progress in all core areas and to provide
interventions as needed.
