Many of you may already be well aware that up on the British Cycling upcoming events pages the dates for the first three Curborough races are advertised and available for entry. Now is the time to think about planning for these events.

Race 1 – 28th March 2015

Race 2 – 18th April 2015

Race 3 – 9th May 2015

There are other events in the West Midlands that you may consider entering and following a request from a number of the Youth members the committee are planning a Race Information meeting which will be held on Monday February 9th in the Hawthorn Room at Friary Grange Leisure Centre please look out for more information on the club website and at the Presentation Evening.

The session will give riders and parents the opportunity to discuss and share experiences and ask questions of some of the more knowledgeable members of the club.

This is a great idea brought to the committee by the younger members of the club so please make every effort to attend.

ZipVit/LichfieldCCC Youth Races Curborough

In case you were not aware ….

Indoor roller training started at Netherstowe School again on Tuesday 6th January.

Excellent timing so you have plenty of time to get training for the BSCA event!

Supported riders

By now you will have seen an email via BC from Neil Lawford.

Please continue to keep an eye on the club website for more details of the 2015 Supported Rider scheme which for the first time will be in the form of a bursary.

Support is being offered to successful riders who can apply irrespective of discipline. Details of the application process and the qualifying criteria to follow soon.

All riders will have the opportunity of feedback irrespective of the outcome of their application.

Young Riders

At the last committee meeting Toby Barnes and Amy Selibas provide some feedback and great ideas on behalf of the younger members. The committee along with Toby and Amy are considering how we can support as many of these as possible. Next time you see them ask them how it went and if you have any more ideas pass them on so they can raise them in future! The committee may even steal them for themselves!!

In case you were not aware …. 2

Depending on the weather club coach Iain Higgs will be continuing to open the Curborough track on Saturday mornings allowing parents and younger riders the opportunity to ride off road for around an hour.

Please contact Iain by email at [email protected] for more information. It is important to do that so he has your contact details incase the session is cancelled for any reason. Keep an eye on the Facebook page as well.
