    3A.L.B.A.s torch cutting machine designedto be used in CC plants for cutting billets,blooms, beam blank and rounds are wellknown for their reliability, ruggedness andshort cutting times. They can work in fullautomatic, semi-automatic or manual modeachieving the best performances as well ascutting results.

    Each oxy-cutting car is equipped with 1high performance high speed water-cooledtorch type ALBACUT with integrated pilotflames and contain the granulating system,fluid control system, cooling system and allthe other necessary equipment and safetydevices.

    The machine structure, clamping system andtorches are water-cooled by a controlled flowand protected against sparks by heat shieldsand provided with automatic centralizedgreasing system for easy maintenance.

    Under the sequence, the cutting cars areclamped onto the strand by a pneumaticclamping device. In this way synchronousrunning of the machine is guaranteed. Then,the cutting cycle will start with the heatingphase and cutting. After termination of thecut, the cars will be released from the strandopening the clamp. They return with anindependent motor into the starting positionto be ready for the next cut.

    Designed and manufactured considering allthe necessary conditions in order to avoidrisks for personnel and plant during the use

    and maintenance of the machine, it will beequipped with all the required safety devicesaccording to all international standards.

    The machine is based on a proventechnology with high reliability and lowmaintenance and is specifically developed tooffer high performances in heavy industrialenvironments.

    The billet/bloom torch cutting machine is CEcertified and developed according to the UNIEN ISO 9001:2008 quality standard.

    The machine is equipped with 2 highperformance high speed water-cooledtorches type ALBACUT with integratedpilot flames for normal cutting, granulating

    system, fluid control system, measuringsystem and all the other necessaryequipment and safety devices.The machine moves on 4 wheels (2 loosewheels + 2 driven wheels).

    Machines will be manufactured in heavyelectro welded carpentry, machined wherenecessary, completely isolated in a dog-house equipped with guillotine door and

    special noise isolating panels to reduce theoutside noise level under normal acceptablevalues (85 dB). A fume aspiration connectedwith a filtering system could be also included.The material to be cut will be placed on asupporting grid and the machine moves ontop of it by means of rails placed beside. Themachine will move away from the cuttingarea for scrap charge/discharge operationsperformed by crane.

    SPECIAL FEATURES

    The machine could also be equipped withthe following special features as an option,if required:

    a dog-house equipped with guillotine door; special noise isolating panels; a fume de-dusting system; 2 special heavy thickness water cooled

    torch for 2 contemporaneous cuts; movable torch arm for all purpose all

    shape cut; iron powder feeding system; close water cooling system with own

    chilling system; on board air conditioned control cabin for

    better operator control.

    The machine will be able to cut scrap piecesup to 2000 mm thickness in a longitudinalor crosswise movement, of any type of steel,pig-iron and slag formation with the use of

    iron powder if necessary.

    The fluids (oxygen, gas, compressed air, water,nitrogen) and the electrical supply will be fedthrough a cable chain. The air conditionedcontrol cabin will be placed on board themachine structure and includes the operatorpanel and the electrical board containing thePLC. All the necessary facilities will be alsoincluded. The only operator required per shiftcould control the cutting operation through awell dimensioned window with appropriateprotection and armed glasses and work insafety in very good environmental conditions.

    A.L.B.A.s deburring systems for billets,blooms, rounds and slabs are specificallydesigned in order to take the burr generatedby the cutting process completely out, andwell known for their reliability, ruggednessand short deburring times.They can work infull automatic, semi-automatic or manualmode achieving the best performances aswell as deburring results.

    MECHANICAL DEBURRING MACHINE

    The mechanical deburring machine suitablefor blooms, rounds and slabs, placed

    underneath the roller table is made of water-cooled electro welded carpentry, machinedwhere necessary and consistsof a main movable structure on which thedeburring blades are placed. Controlled bya set of light barriers, blades are lifted andlowered and moved forward and backward(casting direction) cleaning the head & tail ofthe bar while it is moving on the roller table.Blades could work in both directions with aninclination angle reducing the contact forcerequired and making the deburring processeasier.SPECIAL FEATURES

    The machine could also be equipped withthe following special features as an option,if required: an isolated cover box to keep the noise

    level under control; a slag conveying system to be placed

    underneath the deburring machine; according to the weight, dimension and

    length of the bar, a water cooled pinchroll could be installed to keep the barin a right position during the deburringprocess.

    The SAC system allows to remove theslag as soon as it forms under the billet orthe bloom during cutting operations and is

    designed to be installed in A.L.B.A.s torchcutting machines.The SAC system works in combinationwith the main oxy-cutting torch and blows alaminated flow of oxygen under the lowersurface of the billet while it is cut.When the cut is finish the head and tail of thebar is cleaned and with a perfect shape readyto be laminated. The deburring torch couldmove automatically and be kept in a safetyposition when not in operation.

    A.L.B.A.s oxygen lances allow to injectoxygen directly in Electric Arc Furnaces, CDconverters, AOD or VOD refining units.They allow a remarkable increase of furnacetemperature, shortening of melting time andacceleration of decarburization and steelrefining process.The complete system consists of a fluidcontrol unit, the manipulator for lanceadvancing, flexible hoses for lance feeding

    and a loose lance or a water-cooledlance, depending on the melting processrequirements.The oxygen blowing water-cooled lancecan be also coupled with a parallel carboninjection lance, in order to allow both furnacetemperature increasing and slag foamproduction.

    A.L.B.A.s burners for EAF are designed andmanufactured in order to improve scrapcutting-down (ALBASUN series) and tosupply additional heat to the electric furnace

    (SUPERMACH series).

    The water-cooled ALBASUN series burnersare engineered to be installed on slagremoval doors or on furnace walls and to beoperated by a manipulator. They have a gas/oxygen crown outlet and they produce a longand very concentrated flame which allowsto improve scrap cutting-down and electricarc stability. They produce an oxidizing andexternal mixing combustion with thermalcapacity from 3 up to 5 MW.

    The water-cooled SUPERMACH seriesburners are engineered to be installed onfurnace walls. They have a supersonic gasesoutlet speed in order to avoid any possible

    flashback and to reduce tip obstructioncaused by the slag. The high thermal capacity(from 2 up to 9 MW) and the very large flamesize for wide surface heating allow a highheat supply to electric furnaces.

    The complete system includes the fluidsregulating station, the safety devices, specialflexible hoses and the control board.

    A.L.B.A.s burners for EAF can be suppliedin different thermal capacities, lengths,fluid inlet connections in order to meet thecharacteristics of each single furnace.
