• Attendees at CEO Roundtable meetings will include only the following: one formal voting member per eligible company, topical presenters, and ERCGP staff.

While all voting would be anonymous, each meeting will begin with a series of “demographic” questions in regard to the attendees participating. No ERCGP staff or topical presenters will be eligible to vote (unless the topical presenter is also a Growth Partnership member).

ERIE REGIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING CONSORTIUM: A Community CollaborationThis consortium was launched by Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, Gannon University, Mercyhurst University, Penn State University-Behrend College, Senator Jane Earll, The Erie Community Foundation, The Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership, The Erie County Technical School, and The Erie School District.

Consortium MissionTo develop and lead a long-term effort to create and support a knowledge-based community that will grow the economy of the region.

Goals• Raise the college attainment rate of Erie County

residents and beyond.

• Provide affordable postsecondary educational opportunities.

• Address and find solutions for the workforce skills needed for area employers and future employers.

DESTINATION ERIE – A Regional VisionThe comprehensive strategic planning process has begun to develop the road map for Erie’s future, focusing on six primary areas for action – economy and workforce, environment, transportation and infrastructure, housing, community facilities, and community engagement. Destination Erie has completed its situational analysis and will begin the action planning process in 2013. The plan will shape investment priorities for the region for the next 20 years and the participation of ERCGP members is critical to this process.

THE NEW GROWTH PARTNERSHIP AND CEO ROUNDTABLESThe Growth Partnership Division launched a task force to review the future direction of the division. Ultimately, the group centralized its discussion around the following: (1) Staffing; (2) Structure & Function; (3) Agenda/Content.

Guiding the Task Force’s discussion were two overriding themes. • The first theme was that Growth Partnership meetings need

to be THE place to go for high-level CEO engagement.

• The second theme centered on the need for the Growth Partnership to not only address transformational issues but to also elevate the voice of both ERCGP and the business community throughout the Erie region.

CEO Roundtable MeetingsThe rebranding of the Growth Partnership quarterly meetings to the CEO roundtables is designed to elevate the importance of these events as “must attend” activities. The format of these meetings will vary materially from the former Quarterly Growth Partnership meetings.

• Each CEO Roundtable meeting will involve a highly controlled agenda that includes several formal voting items. This agenda will be developed by the Growth Partnership Committee and reviewed and approved by the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the ERCGP.

• Only members who invest at the Silver Dues Level ($2,000) and above will be invited to participate in the CEO Roundtable meetings. Each of these members may only send one (1) participant. That participant must hold one of the following titles (or the equivalent) within the member company: CEO, owner, president, COO, CFO, executive vice

COMMON CORE STANDARDSThe Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership is committed to the implementation of Common Core Standards. We are partnering with the Erie School District, the GE Foundation, and The Erie Community Foundation and will expand our collaboration throughout the region.

The new Common Core Standards were developed in collaboration with teachers, school administrators, and education experts to provide a clear and consistent framework that will prepare students for college and the workforce. The standards are informed by the highest, most effective models from states across the nation and countries around the world and provide teachers and parents with a common understanding of what students are expected to learn. The standards:

• Are aligned with college and work expectations;

• Are clear, understandable and consistent;

• Include rigorous content and application of knowledge through high-order skills;

• Build upon strengths and lessons of current state standards;

• Are informed by other top-performing countries, so that all students are prepared to succeed in the global economy and society; and

• Are evidence-based.
