SPINDALE — The Word of Faith Christian School se-niors graduated May 19 at 7 p.m. during commercement exercises at the Word of Faith Fellowship in Spindale.The students received the Powers Scholarship from

Isothermal Community Col-lege during the 2012-2013 school year.They plan to continue their education at Wofford Col-lege, Western Carolina Uni-versity and Gardner-Webb University.

The students received a Certifi cate of Achieve-ment—Scholar Recognition, for their history research on World War II and the Holocaust. They traveled with their exhibition to Washington,

D.C., Florida, New Mexico, Texas and North Carolina.They have contributed to the creation of the Holo-caust Museum on Shiloh Road in Forest City.

FOREST CITY— The Ruth-erford Opportunity Center (ROC) will hold its class of 2013 commencement cer-emony on Friday, June 7. The 68 graduates will receive diplomas in front of friends and family at The Foundation Performing Arts and Conference Center at Isothermal Community College (ICC) beginning at 6:30 p.m. The commencement address will be given by Walter Dal-ton, president of ICC. Larry King, principal of ROC, and Denise Humphries, guid-ance counselor, will award the diplomas. The Outstanding Senior Award and the Teacher’s Choice Award will also be presented. Junior marshals for the cer-emony are Brianna Brown, Gwendlyn Capps, Dakota Diver and Amanda Willis. FOREST CITY — H.A.R.C. (Homeschool Association of Rutherford County) held its annual senior graduation ceremony on May 25 at 7 p.m. at Floyd’s Creek Baptist Church. Terry Wilson pre-sented the commencement address. Graduates are Joseph Clay, Evan Cooper, Victoria Ham-ilton, Brian Lowry, Aaron Oldfi eld, Jamie Renfro, Katelynn Ruppe and Han-nah Searcy. The students have made their plans for the future and have received several awards and scholarships.They are:Joseph Clay : Plans to attend Isothermal Community Col-lege for Associates Degree, then to four-year college to get a Bachelor’s of Science in psychology. He would like to acquire his Master’s de-gree in psychology and be-come a licensed professional counselor and apply for a doctorate program. He was nominated at Isothermal Community College for Phi Theta Kappa, was a member of National Society of High School Scholars, Ambassa-dor for NSHSS.Evan Cooper: Plans to attend Isothermal Commu-nity College for two years and then transfer to 4-year university to study elemen-

tary education and Christian counseling.Victoria Hamilton: Attend college and earn an As-sociate’s Degree in Human Resources and go on to earn a Bachelor’s and Master’s in PsychologyBrian Lowry: Attend college, medical school, marriage, a family, a home and a ministry. Aaron Oldfi eld: To attend Isothermal Community Col-lege and study Computer ScienceJamie Renfro: Attend Iso-thermal College and earn an Associate’s Degree in Web Technologies, then transfer

to a 4-year-college to study Computer Science, and to continue serving the Lord through his music.
