Explore the underwater world of our planet through crafts and water play. October 21 Whooo’s Nocturnal? Discover different animals that like to be awake while we sleep. You might even have a chance to touch some of these critters! November 4 Fall into Fun! Leaves are falling down all around! We will look at trees and their leaves, make our own impression of a tree and dance like leaves! November 18 Hey Boo Boo! Let’s discover the different types of bears, look for Yogi, and have a picnic with your favorite bear from home! December 9 Patty Cake, Patty Cake Join us as we discover what happens when we add water to different baking ingredients. We will play with mud, flour, play dough, and salt. January 6 Winter Wonderland Create a winter wonderland of your own! From snowflakes to snow (cones) and sledding, you and your lil’ one will have a great time! HOMESCHOOL WEDNESDAYS Need help teaching science? Have fun hiking the Santa Ana river bottom, participating in a variety of activities, performing experiments, enjoying a presentation, playing games, and/or creating a craft. Per child: $5 per session or $25 for all six AM OR PM session2.

(For students younger than the recommended age, parent participation is mandatory.)

Fulfill many of the requirements for three of your merit badges. Check our website for

prerequisites and bring the required items to complete each badge.

SUMMER CAMP 2014

Two weeks of fun and learning will be offered summer 2014 here at Hidden Valley Nature Center! Registration begins on March 22nd.

Summer camp runs from 8am to 12pm each day. For ages 5 to 11.

June 16 – 20 AND June 23 – 27

BUG & REPTILE Appreciation DAY

Saturday, October 12, 2013 10am to 2pm

$3 per person

Enjoy live animal presentations as you meet and touch a variety of reptiles and

insects. Earn a Certificate of Bravery when you hold a python! Join us for

games, crafts, and face painting as we discover the wonders of these creepy,

but wonderful creatures!

Nature at Night

Saturday, October 26, 2013 6:30pm to 9pm

$4.00 per person (Reservations Required)

Learn about owls, skunks, bats, and other nocturnal critters as you are guided by our naturalist along our

nature trail. You will meet costumed “Critters” at educational stations

along the way. Other activities include live animal presentation, a

craft, and face painting. Participants are welcome to come in costume. This is an educational event, not

scary. Light refreshments will be served.
