tPERFECT PLACE FOR QUILTERSAmish Country is not only a wonderful place for finished quilts—some of the finest quilters live and work here throughout the year. It is also a destination for quilting supplies and meeting other quilters. Whether you come to admire or participate, there is enough inspiration here to extend your stay an extra day or two!
Quilting retreats happen regularly in Amish Country. Call the Holmes County Tourism Bureau at 330-674-3975 for a schedule of upcoming quilting events.

THE ART o MAKING FURNITUREMany of the woodworkers and furniture craftsmen in Amish Country have been practicing their craft for decades. Whether functional or decorative, the work done by local furniture makers is certainly an art form of its own. To request specific information about Amish Country’s furniture builders, please contact the Holmes County Tourism Bureau at 330-674-3975 or [email protected].
WHEN y VISITWant to catch a quilting bee or watch a kiln firing? Many art studios and quilt shops feature opportunities to see artisans practice their craft. Turn your shopping trip into a unique experience; contact shops to find out the best times to visit.
Some artists also list open hours as “by appointment or chance.” Most will keep normal hours, but be sure to check with them if you hope to visit late in the afternoon or on holidays.
