A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE ABUNDANT LIFE OUTREACH MINISTRIES, INC., OF LEXINGTON COUNTY, UPON THE OCCASION OF ITS THIRTIETH ANNIVERSARY, AND TO WISH THE CHURCH LEADERS AND CONGREGATION GOD’S RICHEST BLESSINGS AS THEY CONTINUE TO SERVE THE LORD IN THEIR COMMUNITY.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to learn that Abundant Life Outreach Ministries, Inc., in Cayce will celebrate three decades of ministries at a Thirty-Year Church Anniversary Gala to be held at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center on Saturday, June 21, 2014; and

Whereas, founded by Dr. Cynthia DeBerry in July 1984, Abundant Life Outreach Ministries, Inc., seeks to serve as an example of what the Heavenly Father requires of people so they can obey and keep His commandments; and

Whereas, Abundant Life Outreach Ministries, Inc., prepares and equips God’s people for active Christian duty through education and mentoring and is committed to reaching people from all walks of life to build the Father’s kingdom so they can live the “abundant life” here on earth; and Whereas, preaching the Word of God which is a lamp unto the feet and a light to the pathway for all mankind, the church can find protection, preservation, and provision for excellent leadership; and

Whereas, in 1993, the Abundant Life Outreach Child Development Center opened its doors, and in 1994, the elementary school phase was added; and

Whereas, in 1998, “Pastor Cynthia,” as she was affectionately known, established and taught a one-year enrichment course for those who aspired to enter ministry or to further their spiritual growth, and the program graduated students from within the church, as well as pastors and ministry leaders from other local churches; and

Whereas, from 1997 until 2000, Abundant Life Outreach Ministries, Inc., became a satellite school of Truth Bible College of Jacksonville, Florida; and

Whereas, when Pastor DeBerry went home to be with the Lord on April 6, 2005, the ministry continued under the leadership of Mr. Sims E. DeBerry, chairman of the board, and the pastoral care and administrative leadership were assigned to Pastor Eddie L. Jones and his wife, Elder Sandra G. Jones, who are assisted by Elders Jeffrey and Nellie Smith; and

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is grateful to the pastor, elders, church leaders, members, and friends who have given their time and resources, their energy and prayers that have enabled Abundant Life Outreach Ministries, Inc., to be a light within the community over the past thirty years. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Abundant Life Outreach Ministries, Inc., of Lexington County, upon the occasion of its thirtieth anniversary, and wish the church leaders and congregation God’s richest blessings as they continue to serve the Lord in their community.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Abundant Life Outreach Ministries, Inc.
