For the past few years, Leadership Saskatoon has beenexperiencing enlightened growth and positive changes.2013/2014 continued to follow this pattern.

In June, Leadership Saskatoon bid farewell to ourrespected Program Director, Shannon Floer andconfidently welcomed Tracy Stephensen in theposition. Magel Sutherland joined our team asAdministrative Services Coordinator, and has been atremendous and necessary addition to LeadershipSaskatoon. In 2014, Doug Finnie, our Director ofCommunity Relations was promoted into the positionof Executive Director. Each of these individuals brings agreat deal of skill and experience to their positions andthe Board of Directors of Leadership Saskatoon isconfident that the organization will be well supportedinto the future.

Leadership Saskatoon has been built on the strong and durable belief that inspired leaders helpbuild healthy and inclusive communities. Throughout the last twelve years, over three hundredprogram participants have stretched their minds and expanded the way they think aboutleadership. Dozens of dedicated volunteers have assisted in the actualization of our belief thatstrong leaders build strong communities. The generous support of our sponsors and thecommitment of our stakeholder partners have further solidified the pursuit of our goals.

Our growth has invited us to consider how critical it is to adapt to the new challenges of today –and tomorrow. The Board of Directors and Staff of Leadership Saskatoon remain steadfast in theircommitment to remain current, relevant and to provide the highest quality community basedleadership program well into the future. On behalf on the Board of Directors of LeadershipSaskatoon, it is my pleasure to present our 2013/2014 Annual Report.

Program Report Shannon Floer

Leadership Saskatoon went through a period of transition in 2013 14.After five successful years as Program Director, Shannon Floer decidedto spend more time with her growing family and will not be continuingwith us this coming year. In her place, we have engaged TracyStephensen as Program Director for the 2014 15 program year. We alsowelcomed Magel Sutherland to the role of Administrative ServicesCoordinator. Magel joined us in March and has made a great start inthis role. In addition, after completion of five years as Director ofCommunity Relations I am pleased to take on the role of part timeExecutive Director. This change is intended to allow the Board moreopportunity to focus on the strategic direction of Leadership Saskatoon.

We continue to be successful in securing a full slate of diverse candidates for the program. At the Junegraduation, we had a record 30 participants complete the 2013 2014 program. We anticipate a full programfor 2014 2015 with a short waitlist for the following year! Our sponsorship/partnership programreceives excellent support. More than twenty generous community minded organizations will again besupporting Leadership Saskatoon in 2014 2015. Please visit our website at www.leadershipsaskatoon.comto view our current sponsors and partners.

We are grateful to all of our supporters and volunteers for their commitment to Leadership Saskatoon. It isgratifying to see that our organization is recognized as making an important contribution to ongoing socialdevelopment in Saskatoon.

The class of 2014 was our largest class to date at 30 people. We again had a good balance ofparticipants representing all three sectors of our community.

Our curriculum has remained stable over the last several years. This year we replaced thesystems thinking day with a creative leadership day, however based on feedback from alumniwe will be bringing back systems thinking for the class of 2015. The creativity theme wastaught throughout the year via 15 minute creative cafes hosted by Bill Brooks. Two minoradditions were made this year, the first was adding a self care component to our MarchChallenge Day which focuses on discovering ones purpose and passion in leadership and thesecond was adding a peer coaching component to the April Challenge Day as part of the topicof facilitative leadership.

12 facilitators and 5 coaches volunteered their time and expertise with the class this year, many of whomare alumni of our program. We also had several vibrant panels of alumni and community leadersthroughout the year which contributed to our class discussions and understanding of the program and ofcommunity leadership.

I started volunteering with Leadership Saskatoon in the fall of 2008 as a learning team coach, and was hiredas a staff member in 2009. I have enjoyed being part of the process of designing and shaping the curriculumfor the program and facilitating an important learning journey for leaders in our community. I wish theorganization continued success and growth in the years to come. It has been a pleasure to work with such atalented group of staff and volunteers!

I joined Leadership Saskatoon in March, and although I wasn't present to spend the fullyear with the Class of 2014, I was inspired by their growth during the last few months ofthe program. A testament to the success of Leadership Saskatoon, we enter 2014 15 with31 participants and we continue to receive a high volume of inquiries about the programon a daily basis. This is due in no small part to the dedicated Facilitators & Coaches, Board& Committee Members, and Sponsors & Volunteers that support our program.

Leadership Saskatoon moved to a new office arrangement in early 2014, leaving our former office space at Affinity Credit Union andseeing the staff move to home based offices. We are tremendously grateful for the support of Affinity Credit Union over the pastseveral years for our office space and for providing space for our challenge days. We also benefit from the generosity of several othersponsors and friends whom provide space and funding for our program activities this type of support is fundamental to the success ofour organization.

My sincere thanks goes to Shannon Floer and Doug Finnie for their guidance and support as in my new role as Administrative ServicesCoordinator. I wish Shannon and her family all the best in their new adventures! I'd also like to extend a warm welcome to TracyStephensen, our incoming Program Director.

It has been a great pleasure to meet the participants, sponsors and volunteers who give so much to this organization, and I lookforward to working with all of you over the coming year.

As an alumna and former volunteer, I am pleased to join Leadership Saskatoon as theProgram Director for 2014 2015. I graduated from the Leadership Saskatoon program inJune 2006. I cannot recall how I came across Leadership Saskatoon, but I remember beingvery excited to find out I was accepted into the program. This was the first time I had everbeen a participant in a leadership program. After experiencing the program first hand, Ihave been pleased to volunteer my time as a both a Facilitator and Board Member forLeadership Saskatoon.

Since completing the Leadership Saskatoon program, I have continued to stay connected to leadership development both personallyand professionally. Since 2008, I have worked with Business & Leadership Programs, University of Saskatchewan as a ProgramCoordinator in leadership development. This summer, the Edwards School of Business expanded the Executive Education unit bywelcoming staff and programs from Business & Leadership Programs. I look forward to continuing to work as a Program Coordinatorfor the Edwards School of Business and I believe my position at University of Saskatchewan will complement the programming work Iwill be doing for Leadership Saskatoon.

I am excited to work with the Board of Directors, my colleagues, Doug and Magel, all the volunteers who support LeadershipSaskatoon, and, of course, I look forward to supporting the Class of 2015 participants as they embark on their leadership journey. Finally, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude and a heartfelt thank you to Shannon Floer for her support as I transition into myrole as Program Director for Leadership Saskatoon. I am looking forward to a fantastic year!
