The Swinging Bridgeis the award-winning, editorially independent campus newspaper of Messiah
College. The publication once known as “Ivy Rustles,” has become an established
tradition at Messiah College for providing relevant, up-to-date, and vital
information to students and staff alike. The Swinging Bridge is published, on
average, 6 times per semester when the college is in session. Established in 1923.
“The V” 90.7 WVMM Radiois a professional radio station with a Top 40 format blended with an alternative
& indie format. The student-run station broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
and boosts a signal stretching 20 miles across central Pennsylvania. Established
in 1969.
The Clarion Yearbookis an annual tradition of Messiah featuring the many highlights of the academic
year. This proud cornerstone of Messiah circulates to over 300 students, parents,
faculty, and alumni. Completely student-designed and advertised, the Clarion
stands as a longtime tradition of Messiah College. Established in 1923.
pulse.messiah.eduThe Pulse’s website is the central online hub of Messiah’s social and multimedia
platforms. It contains exclusive content not found in any other of the Pulse’s
printed publications and is the place to turn for up-to-the-minute news and
updates. Accessible from anywhere in the world, pulse.messiah.edu is a place
where prospective and current students, faculty, and alumni can become familiar
with Messiah’s community. Established in 2011.

Inserts & DeadlinesAll ad insertions are required to be sent electronically to
[email protected] or delivered to The Pulse office one
week prior to insertion and are accepted Monday – Friday, 2
p.m. – 5 p.m.
By placing an ad, the advertiser represents to the newspaper
that it has full legal authority to use any photographs, logos,
trademarks, service marks or other product and service
identifiers that may be included.
The Pulse is not responsible for the production quality of any
ads that do not conform to the requirements specified. The
Pulse additionally reserves the right to alter the dimensions
of any ads that do not meet the specified dimensions of
insertion. The Pulse further reserves the right to change
prices for advertisement insertions and to promptly inform
advertisers of all changes as they are made.
Publication Dates
All advertisers are entitled to a free copy of The Swinging Bridge in which they inserted an advertisement upon request.

Ad insertions in the yearbook must be no lower than 300 dpi/ppi

The 2013 Clarion yearbook will be published in over 300 copies consisting of 240 pages.
The Clarion yearbook will be available for purchase beginning on September 27, 2013.

The Clarion Yearbook will be finalized and published around early May, 2014.

Ad PlacementAdvertising placement in The Swinging Bridge is not guaranteed. Requests will be honored whenever possible.
Acceptance PolicyTo protect the interests of readers and advertisers, The Pulse has adopted a code of advertising acceptability standards that applies to all media under the jurisdiction of The Pulse. The students make decisions concerning acceptability of specific content. All advertising is subject to acceptance by The Pulse, which reserves the right to reject copy at its sole discretion any time prior to publication.
Any advertisements that include alcohol-related content, pornographiccontent,contentpertainingtocigarettes/tobaccoproducts, or ads containing violent or vulgar content will not be admitted to any media for which The Pulse has jurisdiction. All advertising is subject to the ad content policy by The Pulse, which reserves the right to determine which advertisements may or may not be admitted for publishing any time prior to publication.
Ad LiabilityThe advertiser assumes full liability for all advertising placed and agrees to hold The Pulse harmless for the content of ads authorized for print or broadcast. The advertiser also represents that it has full authority to use any logos, trademarks, or other product and service identifiers protected by copyright.
Payment PolicyPayment for advertising is required at the time an order is placed. Payment options include cash and check only. Payment terms are net30days.Accountsunpaidformorethan30daysmayberefusedfurther advertising.

For advertisements placed in the Clarion Yearbook, the deadline for space reservation, copy, art, and paymentfordisplayadvertisingis5p.m.oneweekpriortothepublication date. The Pulse and its various departments reserve the right to change any publication dates at its sole discretion and to promptly inform advertisers of all changes as they are made.

ErrorsAdvertisements inserted in the Swinging Bridge and Clarion Yearbook only are eligible for make goods. Make goods will be givenfortheportionoftheadinerroronly.ItistheresponsibilityoftheadvertisertopromptlynotifytheDesignTeamofsignificanterrors. The Swinging Bridge will be responsible for first-time errors only. The limit of responsibility will be the total cost of the ad in which the error occurred. The Swinging Bridge assumes no financial responsibility for advertisements that do not appear in the paper.
