2012 V olunteer of the Y ear Award Voluntary Action Islington is the organisation that encourages and supports individuals and community Volunteer of the Year Awards to celebrate the achievements of local volunteers and community organisations that support volunteering. This year there will be 6 awards: 1. Young Volunteer of the Year: 16-25 year olds 2. Volunteer of the Year: 26-60 year olds 3. Older Volunteer: 60+ year olds 4. Trustee of a voluntary organisation that is active in the borough 5. Active member of a self-help group or community organisation 6. Volunteer involving organisation The awards will be presented by the Mayor of Islington at the Voluntary Action Islington AGM on the evening of Wednesday 7th November. A panel including a trustee of Voluntary Action Islington, a local funder, and a volunteer will judge the nominations. The closing date for nominations is 12 noon on Thursday 18th October. Any individual living, working, or studying in Islington can be nominated for an award. Any community organisation that is actively involving people as volunteers in Islington can be nominated for the volunteer involving organisation award. Each award winner will receive a weekend for 2 including breakfast at a Jurys Inn Hotel.
