Ten Phoenix College student athletes earnedNational Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA)Academic All-American honors in 2010-2011 with aGPA o 3 6 or higher In Fall 2010, 97 student athletesachieved a 3 0 or better GPA

Five PC athletic teams were designated NJCAAAcademic All-American Teams, with a team gradepoint average o at least 3 0

The PC Mens Basketball team took rst place inthe Region 1 Championship, placing in the top tennationally

During 2010-2011, 47 Phoenix College studentathletes signed on to continue their athletic andacademic pursuits at the university level

During his career, Henderson apprenticedunder pitching instructors, Claude Osteen,Burt Hooton, Luis Tiant, Dave Wallace, JimWright, Rick Waits, and was very fortunate towork with Red Adams, Sandy Koufax and thelate Don Drysdale

Henderson currently is pursuing a bachelorsdegree in Applied Biological Sciences fromArizona State University and will graduate

Lisa Ruiz-Gonzales, MS,ATC, AT/L is PhoenixColleges Head Athletic Trainer and an Assistant

Athletic Director. This is her sixth year as HeadAthletic Trainer or Phoenix College. She received

her B.S. in Exercise Science rom Arizona StateUniversity and her M.S. in Sports Health Care romArizona School o Health Sciences. She has beena part o the Phoenix College amily and athletictraining sta since 1999, initially starting as anathletic training student while attending ASU andcontinuing through as a graduate assistant whilecompleting her masters degree at ASHS. Lisa is acertifed member o the National Athletic TrainersAssociation (NATA), Rocky Mountain Athletic Trainers Association, Arizona Community CollegesAthletic Trainers Association (ACCATA), and iscurrently licensed by the Arizona Board o Athletic Trainers. Lisa and her husband Emmett currentlyreside in Phoenix, Arizona.
