“Old-Fashioned Radio Plays for Kids”Do you yearn for your kids to experience childhood from an-other generation—a generation before texting, before computer games, and---dare we say it--- before television? Families in the 1930’s and 40’s spent evenings playing board games and gath-ering around the radio to hear mysteries, adventure stories, and variety shows. In “Radio Plays for Kids,” voice actor Ty Davis (www.tydavisvo.com) and music teacher/music theater director Twila Bergeron will lead tweens and young teens in character voice production, theatrical reading and acoustic sound effects as we learn a radio play from days gone by. We’ll then present this mock radio play to any family members ready to laugh a lot! KickballKickball is a recreational playground game which was originally called “Kick Baseball” and played just the same. It is truly lots of fun and most commonly played on school playgrounds. In this class, we will learn the correct way to play and have loads of fun doing it. This is also a great physical team sport without injuries and every week we’ll have battling competitions against each other. On the last day we will have a “winner takes all game” and that team will received an award and bragging rights that they are the Nicolet Rec. Kickball Champs. Of course, no sports competition is complete without an end of the season party which will also happen on the very last night. So beat the winter indoor blues and sign up!
