The University of Newcastle Language Centre has been operating for more than 20 years and has established a reputation for excellence in English language education. We provide a friendly, supportive and culturally diverse atmosphere as part of the wider University of Newcastle environment.

We offer:

Locations in Newcastle and Sydney campuses with convenient access to the university’s student facilities and services

Fully-qualified and experienced teaching staff

Quality curriculum with classes designed to equip you with the language skills for your future study, career or personal purposes

A culturally diverse environment where you’ll study with students from over 30 different countries

Average of 15 students per class and

25 hours of classes each week

Access to computer laboratories, wireless internet and printing facilities

Courses available to students aged 16 and above (we can assist in arranging a legal guardian for students aged 16-18)

Opportunity to interact with Australian students through our iLEAD program including social activities and speed conversation sessions

Opportunity for students to join the ELICOS Social Club and take part in weekend barbeques, trips to the theatre, restaurants and nearby tourist attractions.

tHe UniVersity of newcastLe LangUage centre

Introduces aspects of English for academic Purposes. Students who pass Upper Intermediate can gain direct entry into International Foundation at the University of

Newcastle.

thE univErSity of nEWcaStlE Undergraduate and postgraduate programs

Develops all language skills with an emphasis on skills relevant to tertiary study. Students who pass aEaP can gain direct entry into the University of Newcastle’s Undergraduate and Postgraduate degree programs.

thE univErSity of nEWcaStlE intErnational foundation program

For International students who do not have the academic qualifications to gain direct admission into the University’s degree programs.

The Language Centre at the University of Newcastle is a great environment for study. It’s provided me with a good opportunity to interact with lots of people from different backgrounds, both australian and International, and I’ve made heaps of new friends.

We offer a wide range of specialised English programs for student, tourist, industry, educational institute and government groups or individuals who want to study English and experience Australian culture, or gain professional development.

Study tours and custom group programs We have been offering customised English language programs to international students

and client groups since 1989.

We offer short study tours or custom programs to groups wishing to combine English studies with tourist activities, professional visits, faculty tutorials or Business English. We can design programs to suit your requirements combined with your preferred choice of accommodation.

Working holiday makers Choose your own adventure! Our Working Holiday packages are a fantastic way to

experience life and travel in Australia, whilst improving your English language skills. In addition to your English studies, choose from options such as Barista skills, bar skills, learn to surf, and learn to scuba dive courses in two fantastic coastal cities.

internships Improve your English skills while gaining international experience! Our Internship

program offers the opportunity to study English with the University of Newcastle Language Centre prior to undertaking a non-paid training position with an Australian company. Internships are offered in almost all professional fields in Newcastle and many other major Australian cities, and we will match students’ requests with a suitable organisations.
