ABOUT USMacGen is a leading UK power generation specialist providing sales, service and maintenance of mobile

and static generator units to clients worldwide.

MacGen Power Generation was founded in 1958. A family owned

company, MacGen's main offices are located at a modern 20,000 square

foot facility in Kilrea, Northern Ireland. The Company employs a team of

fully-qualified personnel to deal with all aspects of the sale and service

of its generators worldwide.

MacGen retains in stock a large and varied range of generating sets

which together with a comprehensive series of parts and spares to suit,

means that the Company is able to meet its customer requirements both

quickly and efficiently. Our generators are manufactured in size from

2.7kVA to 2200kVA and are available as either openskid, supersilenced,

or containerised models which all comply with current European

generator standards. Automatic Mains Failure systems are available as

an option.

hotels and schools to business offices and factories to quarry and waste

With growing demand for specialist maintenance our customers can be

assured that we are completely equipped to undertake all service and

modification work, both electrical and mechanical. Service contracts can

be individually tailored to the customers requirements. With our in-house

load banking facilities we can load test machines for full load capability

and general testing requirements.

Parts & ServicingTo ensure the provision of power from your generator, the MacGen

service network can quickly provide parts, service and technical

support, together with a next day delivery service on stocked items for

Warranty SupportMacGen provide a full 12 month warranty on all its machines, subject

Environmental AwarenessMacGen generators are specifically designed to provide reliable power,

whilst being environmentally friendly. Our internally housed, heavy duty

bunded fuel tanks provide high levels of protection from fluid loss. Our

silenced sets also provide the lowest levels of noise contamination.

MacGen generators are fully compliant with: EN ISO 13857:2008,

2006/95/EC, 89/336/EEC, 2000/14/EC (amended by 2005/88/EC),

97/68/EC (amended by 2002/88/EC & 2004/26/EC).

Transportation

The carriage drive is built into the bed structure, which forms the

chassis of the set. By integrating the chassis and retention tray in a

single element it optimizes and reduces the overall size of the machine.

It’s compact and robust structure allows for easy movement and

transportation, either by:

Our complete range features a completely sealed chassis able to retain

and prevent loss of fluid to the outside. Our generators are compact and

CEM CONTROLLERCOMES AS STANdARd ON MOdELS: MPG20-MPG2200

The central CEM Controller consists of a team of power monitoring

and control modules.

Display Module

Provides information on the status of the generator and allows the

user to command, plan and configure the operation of the set. It

consists of a backlit display and various LEDs for monitoring the

status of the set and push buttons that allow users to command

and schedule.

Action Module

Monitors and supervises the control of the set. This module is

located at the back of the display module to reduce wiring and thus

increase plant immunity against electromagnetic noise. All signals,

sensors and actuators are wired to the module of measures. The

connection between the action module and the display module

is via a CAN communication bus, allowing the interconnection of

additional modules which guarantees the scalability of the plant.

The CEC central monitoring team is a network signal and

power monitoring plant. It consists of two different modules:

Display Module

This unit provides device status,

information and through the display

module allows the user to monitor,

command and configure their

operation. It consists of a backlit

display and various LEDs for

monitoring both mains and generator

functionality.

Measure Module PHR

The measure module is responsible for performing the tasks

of monitoring and controlling the plant. This module is located

at bottom of the CEC panel to reduce wiring and thus increase

plant immunity against electromagnetic noise. All signals,

sensors and actuators are wired to the module of measures.

The connection between the module and display action is

via a CAN communication bus, allowing the interconnection

of additional modules which guarantees the scalability of the

plant.

The option is available of starting the engine manually or automatically, by

voltage free contact, which protects against possible damage during operation.

The management is done through a microcontroller-based electronic circuit,

which is located inside the unit.

On the front the panel incorporates a power switch to power off, a reset button,

a mode selection key MANUAL, AUTO or STOP and 14 LEDs.

In the back the panel has 18 plug-in connection terminals spread over two

blocks, six micro-switches and a port RJ11 programming for programming and

querying the historical alarm and meter.

OPTIONAL FEATURES

1. Mobile Trailer UnitsThe MacGen range of generator units are available on mobile road-tow chassis up to 200kVA. Fully galvanised and constructed from

folded steel, these units provide much needed portability where necessary. Supplied with all electrical lights and connections and a

choice of towing hitches, the mobile generator is ready to move whenever it is needed, supplying reliable power in the most flexible

way. Weight restrictions may apply.

2. Auto Start PackagesThe AMF/ATS panel is used to monitor a mains supply and automatically start the standby generator in the event of a mains power

failure. The module also provides indication of operational status and fault conditions, automatically shutting down the generator

and indicating failures by means of the LCD display and appropriate flashing LED on the front panel. Selected timers and alarms can

be altered by the customer from the front panel. The interface also provides real time diagnostic facilities. Synchronizing options also

available.

3. 3-Way Fuel Valve KitsThis kit enables the user to select a fuel source either from the generators own internal bunded tank or an appropriate external tank

via the valve. The kit is also supplied with non-return, quick-release fittings available in either 1/2”, 3/8” or 1/4” sizes.

4. Water Fuel Pre-Filter Due to different fuel qualities or possible condensation build up in large external storage tanks a certain amount of water can occur

in the fuel system. The water fuel pre-filter separates this water from the diesel in order to avoid the water damaging the injection

system and engine.

5. distribution Boxes Distribution boxes are available on all soundproof generators, excluding the MPG13 model, with a large and varied range of socket

configurations from 16amp to 125amp.

6. high Capacity Fuel TankThis steel-bunded, high-capacity fuel tank significantly increases the fuel capacity of the generator over the standard version.

These tanks are available for the complete soundproof range. Sizes available from 100 to 3960 litres (model dependant).

7. Electronic GovernorThe electronic governor regulates the generator’s engine speed. Due to its rapid response to load demand changes, it can maintain

the generator's output frequency much more efficiently, especially when working within narrow limits such as computer hardware or

electronic plant equipment.

8. Lift and drag Skids The lift and drag skids are designed to allow the user more flexibility when positioning the generator on site. In addition to the

lifting hook and fork truck pockets, the drag skid allows the unit to be pulled into position. It also protects the chassis and canopy

from damage caused by small machinery as the base protrudes outwards from the main canopy frame.

9. Battery Trickle Charger After prolonged period of inactivity batteries can discharge. The battery trickle charger prevents this discharge from occuring by

keeping the batteries charged to their maximum capacity. When maximum capacity is achieved, the battery trickle charger switches

off until it is next required (external power source required).

10. Switchable dual Frequency The MacGen generator range is supplied with 50Hz as standard. However they can be reconfigured to provide both 50 and 60Hz

through a combination of adjustments to the MacGen CEM controller and the engine.

10• Programmable Timer: The programmable timer informs the controller about the current date and time which in turn allows the weekly programming of

events such as programmed start and stop, programmed blocking, failure data log, energy counters (day, month, year).

• Marine Alternator: This additional protective coating can be added to the main alternator to protect it from the harshest environments.

• Battery Isolator: The battery isolator is normally located within the engine compartment of the generator its primary purpose being to isolate all power

from the batteries to the controller.

• Water Jacket Heater: This thermostatically controlled unit warms the engine coolant allowing the generator to start and accept load quicker.

• Low Water Level Sensor: This unit will automatically shutdown the engine when the coolant level reaches its minimum mark.

• Customised Color: The complete range of generators can be customised to meet any bespoke company branding and aesthetics.

COMMUNICATIONS OPTIONS | FOR OFFSITE MONITORING AND MANAGEMENT

1. Repetitive Visualisation Display This remote display acts as a second viewer allowing the user to monitor and control the generator via a hard wire connection up to 1km.

2. MPS5.0 Synchronising Control System The MPS5 module allows up to 8 generators to be linked together for the purpose of synchronization and load sharing.

3. CAN-BUS monitoring This option allows the user full control and monitoring of the generator from a PC via CAN-USB connection up to 1km away (achieved through hard wire connection).

4. CAN-LAN monitoringSimilar to the CAN-BUS system but connection is made via Ethernet, which allows any PC connected to the same network to control and monitor the generator.

5. GSM Modem Remote Monitoring Allows the user full control and monitoring of the generator from a PC connected to a GSM/Cellphone network, it can also send an SMS text alert informing start/stop of the generator to a mobile phone.*

6. Internet Remote Monitoring This option allows the user full control and monitoring of the generator from a PC connected to the internet.*
