And we mean that literally, not in a fairy-dust sort of way. Snowstorms can defy a clear forecast and appear out of nowhere, turning the resort into a snow globe. Tracks disappear as soon as they are laid. Cars vanish overnight under a thick white blanket. A mountain that appears modest on paper grows underfoot as glades, trees and bowls are revealed. Children exploring the enchanted forests in our Kids Fun Zone fall under a joyful spell, unknowingly improving their skills.

Tucked into the western slope of the Tetons, just 12 miles from Driggs, Idaho, a powder sanctuary awaits. Trapped against a high alpine barrier, regular snowstorms deposit consistent double digit snowfall on our 2,600 acres of glades, bowls and groomed runs. The trade-off for your trek to Targhee? A self-contained, rustic base area offering all the necessities, access to 2,270 vertical feet covered in light Targhee powder and a conspicuous lack of lift lines and attitude — even on the best powder days.
