Best of Boston Independence Day!

Day 3: Breakfast is included this morning before departing for our guided tour. We will board the Spirit of Boston for a 2 1/2 hour luncheon harbor cruise. We will have free time in Boston this afternoon and time to refresh at the hotel before departing for the Boston Pops Rehearsal Concert, the best way to see the Boston Pops and avoid the large crowd on the 4th. You will receive a wrist band which will give you entrance to the concert area. The concert is located in the Oval – a space of lawn, in the front of the stage. After settling in you will enjoy a summer barbecue dinner. After dinner you can sit, relax, talk and wait for the music to begin! Day 5: Today we depart for a great one day adventure to Georgetown and Central City.Our morning finds us in historic Georgetown for a taste of Colorado history. Georgetown is a quaint Victorian Village set in a spectacular mountain valley. A self-guided walking tour will provide you with an appreciation of the historic and architectural significance of Georgetown’s many 19th-century buildings and will provide an understanding of the area’s mining heritage. Day 8: We depart this morning for nearby Sarasota and the Ringling residence, a million-dollar Venetian Gothic mansion patterned after the Doge’s Palace in Venice, Italy. The Art Museum is an Italian-style villa created by local craftsmen from shiploads of columns, doorways, and marble collected by John Ringling. The Museum of the Circus has a collection of circus wagons, calliopes, costumes, handbills and posters covering the history of the circus from Roman times to the present. See demonstrations and exhibits of woodcarving, patchwork, beadwork, basket weaving and doll making. Here we take a unique airboat swamp tour in what’s often called “the eighth wonder of the world”, spotting alligators as we travel. Then we will turn north toward Ft. Day 6: This morning after breakfast we tour the winter home of the inventor Thomas Edison. This house, built in Maine, was brought by ship to Florida in 1885. The museum, also located here, contains a rare and beautiful collection of antique phonographs as well as an exhibit depicting the history of electric light. Today we will also include a stop at the Butterfly Estates, not only a botanical garden and butterfly conservatory, but an “experience”. Experience a multitude of tropical flowers, plants, trees and shrubs, along with numerous butterfly species. We will visit the gift shop and you might want to stop by Caterpillars Ice Cream & Fudge Factory for a sweet treat before departing for a return to our hotel.
