The kiTchen bar is often the most sociable spot in the house. combining smooth honed white marble with tactile linear texture white linen finishes creates a new level of sophistication.

this is so much more than merely a place to cook. the kitchen is now the most important room in our home. it has become an all-embracing area for family and social life, a place to relax, dine, work and play. practically, it must be functional and provide all the surfaces and storage spaces we require. stylistically, the kitchen has become more sophisticated – as much a design statement as our living room.

with the smallbone kelly hoppen kitchen collection, i have translated the essential elements of my signature style into a stunning, contemporary kitchen range. my vision was to marry the brilliance of smallbone’s craft tradition with my modern design aesthetic. most of all, i wanted to offer choice. i have created a palette of colours and textures that can be layered to create a personalised space that is glamorous without appearing ‘hard’. this unique variety of finishes and materials includes pure gloss lacquer, linear texture oak, chain mail, honed granite and silver-leafed mirror glass, allowing you to select the tones and finishes that work for you.

the designer is renowned for her tonal palette of taupe, black and white, and this is brilliantly brought to life in this range with a dynamic mix of textures and finishes. kelly’s approach is one

of pared-back minimalism with an edge of glamour provided by luxury materials such as marble, granite and wood.

these elements are hand crafted, using traditional techniques, by smallbone’s skilled cabinetmakers. the result is a unique collaboration of style and quality, heritage and haute design.

inspiration comes from nature and organic forms; the ripple of marble veining, the sleekness of honed granite, the subtle lines of wood grain.

Bespoke internal fittings, crafted by smallbone’s joiners, are hand built from natural oak. doors and drawers are fitted with discreet touch catches or feature sleek nickel handles, engraved with the collection’s name.

texture and contrast create a cutting-edge environment for cooking, socialising and dining in the smallbone kelly hoppen kitchen. a solid wood breakfast bar and peninsular cabinet in linear texture linen white are complemented by a single piece of delicately veined bianco carrara marble. freestanding box shelves, furnished with decorative chain mail, lend contemporary glamour.

the gleaming circular island in pure lacquer white linen, teamed with a polished gris expo worktop, has a cantilevered seating area and drop level hob. it creates a striking counterpoint to the graphic lines of the cabinets in linear texture kelly’s taupe.

Curved dresser smallbone’s tradition of hand crafted cabinetry has enabled kelly hoppen to create this showstopping floating dresser, shown here in pure lacquer kelly’s taupe, with a honed indian black granite worktop. touch-catch drawers mean its seductive curves are uninterrupted by handles. beautiful, as well as practical, shelving has been designed to display glassware against a stunning mirrored backdrop. the cabinet also features an optional marble pastry slab or end-grain chopping block, with a sunken bowl beneath to hold flowers or chilled champagne.

Mondrian larder concealed behind full-length doors is a sophisticated larder with capacious storage, featuring solid oak fittings and painted wicker baskets. the sliding racks and push-open drawers are designed to combine perfect function with aesthetic form.

exterior finishesthe smallbone kelly hoppen collection features three exterior finishes: linear texture black velvet, linear texture white linen and linear texture kelly’s taupe. these provide texture and a striking tactile quality to cabinet doors and drawers, modules and freestanding pieces.

the three high-gloss lacquer finishes in kelly hoppen’s signature palette of black, white and taupe contrast with the matt linear texture finishes. these highly reflective finishes can be used individually or in combination with the linear texture finishes to create a variety of different kitchen design effects. select from

pure lacquer black velvet, pure lacquer white linen and pure lacquer kelly’s taupe.

interior finishesdepending on the external materials selected, cabinet interiors are finished in platinum oak or ebonised chestnut finishes.

Worktops and splashBaCksevery surface has been carefully considered. worktops are made to measure from honed indian black granite and polished gris expo. honed bianco carrara marble can be used as a striking design detail. cullet glass, made from recycled bottles and backed with mirror, is used as a signature splashback feature.

this brochure is intended as a guide to smallbone kelly hoppen furniture. no picture, however, can convey the tactile beauty of smallbone kelly hoppen handmade cabinetry. only by opening the doors, experiencing the smooth drawer movement, and examining the depth of colour and the richness and subtlety of the finishes can you begin to appreciate the qualities of the smallbone kelly hoppen collection.

in this brochure, descriptive words are used with reference to smallbone kelly hoppen furniture designs. whilst some of our designs are made from natural materials, a number are also made (in whole or part) from man-made materials, as they can be more durable, flexible and/or practical than natural products. for example, in certain circumstances high quality melamines and high pressure laminates are used in place of veneers, engineered particle board is used for the construction of our carcasses and solid woods for stress-bearing drawer boxes. as with all aspects of our furniture, we are happy to discuss with you details of the materials used.
