All-conference status is awarded in all 19 sports. Headcoaches select all-league squads for all team sports, while inindividual sports, such as cross country and tennis,All-PACaccolades are based upon performances at the conferencechampionships.
The PAC annually awards its men’s and women’sAll SportsTrophies to the schools which perform best across the boardin PAC competition. The Grove City andWashington & Jef-ferson men tied for the top spot in the 2009-10 year, whiletheWestminster women captured the women’s All-SportsTrophy. True to its mission, the PAC has produced numer-ous Academic All-Americans and NCAA Postgrduate Schol-arship winners. Last year, the league named over 650student-athletes to the PACAcademic Honor Roll, which rec-ognizes all participating student-athletes who attain a grade-point average of 3.60 or above.
Founded in 1955, the Presidents’ Athletic Conferencecontinues its mission of promoting intercollegiate athleticsand the pursuit of academic excellence.
Comprised of 10 select private colleges - Bethany Col-lege, Chatham University, Geneva College, Grove City Col-lege, Saint Vincent College, Thiel College, Thomas MoreCollege,Washington & Jefferson College,Waynesburg Uni-versity, andWestminster College - the PAC remains a uniqueorganization in this day of high pressure intercollegiate ath-letics. With academics at the center of each member’s phi-losophy, the PAC is built on the principle that an athleticprogram is a part of college life, but not an entity in itself.
The PAC expanded to seven members in 2005 with theaddition of Thomas More College, formerly an NCAA Divi-sion III independent. Saint Vincent College, a former NAIAmember, joined the conference as it began provisional mem-bership status in NCAA Division III in 2006-07, and is now afull member of the NCAA. Another NAIA member,GenevaCollege, became the conference’s ninth member and beganleague play as it started Division III provisional membershipin 2007-08. Chatham College became the league’s 10thmember, also in 2007-08.
The PAC annually crowns champions in 19 sports. In2009-10, the conference had 42 teams represent the con-ference in postseason play, including 23 in NCAA Champi-onship events. PAC championship teams receive automaticqualification status for most NCAA Division III nationalchampionship events.

TEAM HISTORY
SaintVincent College first opened its doors in 1846, and baseball played an important role for students right from the start. Some of the earliest found writings by a SaintVincent student are from the diary of Francis X. Reuss, a student from 1866-69. He began his diary onAugust 31, 1867, and the second entry in his diary discusses playing a game of “Base Ball” on cam-pus with friends. His journal entry for September 4, 1867 reads,“I umpired a game of Base Ball this morning between thetwo teams of the Hero Base Ball Club. The club was organized Aug. 31, 1867 to play a game with the Scholastics.”
Thus began the history of baseball at SaintVincent College, a tradition that continues today. The following are some inter-esting notes from the history of the sport on the Latrobe campus.

1One of the top small-college baseball fields in the region,Bearcat Ballfield is always in top-notch shape thanks tohard work by the coaching staff and players. The field islocated in the center of campus, in a natural bowl sur-rounded by student dorms that offer fans an ideal viewfrom all angles.
Since head coach Mick Janosko took over the Bearcatprogram in 1998, Bearcat Ballfield has received a numberof additions and upgrades. The field features a full-sizedelectronic scoreboard beyond the fence in left center, aswell as a concession stand and press box behind homeplate. Constructed prior to the 2005 campaign, the pressbox has a top-notch public address system and musicstereo, while it is also completely wired for television andinternet broadcasting.
Prior to the 2007 season, a permanent fence, standingnine feet tall, was erected in the outfield that fully en-closes the playing field. One of the largest fields in theare, outfield dimensions measure 325 feet to left field,365 to left center, 405 to dead center, 420 to right cen-ter, and 365 down the right field line.
Located in the left field corner, a batting cage measuring80’ by 15’ was fully paved in the fall of 2007, allowing forusage in even the wettest of weather.
In addition to the natural setting created by the sur-rounding hillsides, Bearcat Ballfield also features bleacherseating for 150 along the third base line.
Bearcat Ballfield also has an infield tarp, allowing the fieldto stay in top condition, and the team to keep rainouts toa minimum, in the less-than-ideal Western PA springs.
