SHAREHOLDERS• Green Bay Packers, Inc., has been a publicly owned, nonprofit cor-

poration since Aug. 18, 1923, when original articles of incorporation were filed with Wisconsin’s secretary of state.

• A total of 5,020,523 shares are owned by 363,948 stockholders –none of whom receives any dividend on the initial investment.

• The corporation is governed by a board of directors and a seven-member executive committee.

• One of the more remarkable business stories in American history, the team is kept viable by its shareholders – its unselfish fans. Even more incredible, the Packers have survived during the current era, permeated by free agency and the NFL salary cap. And, thanks in large part to Brown County’s passage of the 2000 Lambeau Field referendum, the club will remain solvent and highly competitive well into the future due to its redeveloped stadium.

• Fans have supported the team financially on several occasions, including five stock sales: 1923, 1935, 1950, 1997 and 2011.

• To protect against someone taking control of the team, the articles of incorporation prohibit any person from owning more than 200,000 shares.

The Green Bay Packers organization is dedicated to enriching the lives of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan residents by donating time and talents, along with providing diverse community outreach programs. Our programs are designed to assist nonprofit organizations, mentor youth, encourage volunteerism and gain an awareness of the unique needs of our communities. We are committed to taking an active role in leading by example to encourage, inspire and build unity within the com-munities that have consistently supported us for more than 90 years.

The Green Bay Packers are founded on two principles: football and a commitment to the community. Fulfilling the Packers’ mission requires focus and dedication – seven days a week, 52 weeks a year. These efforts have resulted in a 93-year legacy of excellence both on and off the field.

Each day of the week is important to the team in terms of creating a game plan and preparing for the next opponent. Similarly, each day of the week represents an essential component in the organization’s efforts to support its fans and its community. The Packers’ commitment to their fans, and their fans’ commitment to the team, come together to form a mutually beneficial relationship that has no rival.

DONATIONSThe Packers are proud to help nonprofit groups in the state of

Wisconsin with their fundraising efforts. In 2011, more than 11,000 requests were submitted for consideration, which in turn raised over $3.2 million to help nonprofit groups providing services to those in need. Separate cash donations to local nonprofit groups exceeded $2 million during this same time period.

Those interested in acquiring a donation to benefit a nonprofit organization in Wisconsin must apply online at packers.com/com-munity/donations.html.

FOUNDATION GRANTSThe Packers Foundation was proud to make a difference in

Wisconsin by contributing over $245,000 in annual grant money to worthy civic and charitable groups throughout the state. Of the 79 recipient organizations, 30 are located within Brown County, while the others are located in other areas throughout the state.

COMMUNITY QUARTERBACK AWARDSFor the 12th year, the Packers requested and received numerous

nominations of outstanding volunteers from throughout the state of Wisconsin for consideration in the organization’s Community Quarterback Award program. Ten winners were selected, with each winner receiving a $2,000 grant in the name of the nonprofit organization for which they volunteer.

COMMUNITY EVENTS GRANTSEach year, the Packers award four grants to nonprofit organiza-

tions in Brown County that are interested in holding a charity event at Lambeau Field. This year’s recipients were the Boys & Girls Club of Green Bay, EconomicsWisconsin, Girl Scouts of Northwestern Great Lakes, Inc., and Wisconsin Knights of Columbus Charities, Inc.

WISH GRANTINGLast season, the Packers were honored to grant the wishes

of seven children and young adults through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. During a visit, the guest of honor has the opportunity to tour Lambeau Field, watch practice, dine with the team and share some very special one-on-one time with their favorite players. The Packers players, coaches and staff work diligently to make certain each visit is a positive and memorable experience for their special guests.

MILITARY SUPPORT

The Packers remain committed to honoring the men and women of the United States military who have or are currently serving their country. In an effort to do so, the Packers send hundreds of military care packages and messages of support each year. Throughout the season, the team also honors servicemen and women through Operation Fan Mail, a gameday activity in which members of the armed services are recognized for their outstanding contributions.

APPEARANCES BY PLAYERS AND COACHES Members of the organization – players, coaches and staff – are

committed to supporting the community. Throughout 2011, the Packers were granted the opportunity to make over 250 appear-ances. Appearances included nonprofit fundraisers, school visits, athletic banquets and many other events and programs.

APPEARANCES BY ALUMNIThe season featured numerous homecomings at Lambeau Field.

During home-game weekends, the Packers and their fans welcomed over 40 alumni for a return to the stadium. The visits provided the fans a chance to fondly relive Packers history, as well as obtain autographs from some of their favorite former players.

PLAYERS’ FOUNDATIONSMany Packers players take their dedication to the community to

another level by creating foundations to impact the lives of those around them.

NFL MAN OF THE YEAR PROGRAMEach season, the Packers nominate a player for the Walter

Payton NFL Man of the Year Award. The honor recognizes NFL play-ers for their commitment to the community. The Packers’ nominee for 2011 was kicker Mason Crosby. Crosby was recognized for his strong support of the military as well as a large number of nonprofit organizations, including the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation, The Salvation Army and Families of Children with Cancer.

FIT KIDS!Currently in its eighth year, the Fit Kids! program has been

adopted by over 315 public school districts across the state of Wisconsin. The program, designed to improve children’s physical, mental and social health through the instruction of teachers, has made a difference in the lives of thousands of students.

PLAY 60 CHALLENGETen Wisconsin schools participated in this season’s “Play 60

Challenge,” a program that attempts to get students active for at least 60 minutes a day. The 2,070 middle-school students that participated in the program logged 7.2 million active minutes in a 28-day-span, averaging 125 minutes per student, per day.

SCHOLARSHIPSThe Packers have forged an educational partnership with

Scholarships, Inc. and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, funding several scholarships for students who are residents of Brown County and entering four-year colleges or two-year technical or apprenticeship trade programs. The scholarships are awarded based on community service, involvement in athletic activities, academic achievement and financial need.

INTERNSHIPSIn addition to the numerous full-time and part-time personnel

the Packers employ, there are several internships available through-out the organization. Departments such as accounting, athletic training, community outreach, fields, human resources, information technology, marketing, media group, public relations and ticketing provide young adults with valuable experience in their academic and professional careers.

ASPIRO AWARENESS WALK/CHILI CONTESTThe Packers Women’s Association (PWA) is a great supporter

of ASPIRO, an organization devoted to creating opportunities for people with disabilities to reach goals, connect in the commu-nity and achieve independence. In addition to participating in the group’s Awareness Walk, the PWA also served as judges for the chili-contest fundraiser.

MAKING STRIDES AGAINST BREAST CANCER RUN/WALKTwenty-two members of the PWA participated in the Making

Strides Against Breast Cancer Awareness Run/Walk, with all pro-ceeds going to benefit the American Cancer Society.

PAUL’S PANTRY FOOD DRIVEThe PWA teamed up with Festival Foods for the 25th Annual

Food Drive for Paul’s Pantry. The drive was quite successful, netting over 27,000 food items and $15,000 in the hours leading up to a Packers home game.

PWA CARE FOR KIDS PROJECTPWA continued its work on a program started in 2009, the PWA

Care for Kids project, designed to support pediatric patients at local hospitals. Over 1,000 arts and crafts projects, games and movies were donated to the hospitals for distribution to young patients during their extended and often overwhelming stays in the hospital.

THE SALVATION ARMY’S ADOPT-A-FAMILY PROGRAMThe PWA adopted 19 families for the holiday season. Each fam-

ily anonymously submits a list of their basic needs and interests, which the PWA members and their families do their best to fulfill, bringing cheer both to those giving and receiving.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CARE PACKAGESPWA spread holiday cheer to 80 military servicemen and

women who are currently deployed in Afghanistan and Kuwait. Together, the PWA members shopped for a large array of items, then assembled the care packages and sent them off to soliders with local connections.

USA FOOTBALL COACHING SCHOOLThe Packers worked with USA Football to host a coaching school

with the goal of developing and sharpening the approach to youth football in the state. The curriculum, aimed at youth football levels, focused on the strategies of the game, as well as the life lessons that young players learn from the game. The event featured multiple classroom sessions at Lambeau Field as well as drill demonstrations inside the Don Hutson Center.

AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVESThe Packers partner with the American Red Cross several

times each year to host blood drives for both staff and community members. Throughout the year, nearly 600 units of blood were collected at Lambeau Field, impacting up to 1,800 patients in need of a donation.

PROJECT LEAP!Project LEAP! is an event designed to get children and their fam-

ilies out of the house, participating in fun, non-strenuous activity in the midst of harsh Wisconsin winters. Among the activities offered at the event are inflatables, climbing walls, bungee trampolines, face painting and entertainment.

TAILGATE TOURSeveral players, alumni and staff departed in May on a five-day

journey through Wisconsin for the organization’s annual Tailgate Tour. President/CEO Mark Murphy and players Mason Crosby, Jordy Nelson and Charlie Peprah as well as alumni players William Henderson, Larry McCarren and Marco Rivera made stops in La Crosse, Madison, Kenosha, Cedarburg/Grafton and Sturgeon Bay before returning to Green Bay. In addition to impromptu stops throughout the state, the group made nightly appearances at a tailgate party in each city, with all proceeds benefitting a designated nonprofit organization.

65 ROSES CELEBRITY GOLF TOURNAMENTAs part of a long-standing tradition in Green Bay, Head Coach

Mike McCarthy served as the honorary chairman for the 65 Roses Celebrity Golf Tournament. Over the past 20 years, the organization has teamed up with Humana to raise well over $500,000 to fight cystic fibrosis.

GREEN BAY PACKERS YOUTH FOOTBALL OUTREACH CAMPSThe Green Bay Packers Youth Football Outreach Camp is a

complimentary program that features educational benefits as well as recreational opportunities for second- through fifth-grade students in a safe and fun environment. In 2011, the Packers held 20 camps at elementary schools throughout Wisconsin and provided boys and girls the opportunity to test their football skills in various drills and obstacle courses.

YOUTH FOOTBALL ON LAMBEAU FIELDFor many years, the Packers have invited local youth football

teams to run plays on the field during the Packers Family Night scrim-mage, as well as during halftime of a preseason game, as they are cheered on by the thousands of fans in attendance.

NFL PUNT, PASS & KICK COMPETITIONEach year, the Packers host the annual Punt, Pass & Kick

Competition prior to a regular-season game at Lambeau Field. Forty youngsters, ages 8-15, advanced from across the state for the opportunity to compete for the title of Packers Punt, Pass & Kick Team Champion, with four participants scoring high enough to place them in competition at the Punt, Pass & Kick National Finals.

GREEN BAY PACKERS 7-ON-7 REGIONAL PASSING TOURNAMENTIn June 2011, the Packers hosted their third annual 7-on-7

Regional Passing Tournament. Five high school football teams and three high school player-development teams were invited to the Don Hutson Center, the Packers’ practice facility, to compete in a passing tournament for the chance to advance to the NFL 7-on-7 National Tournament as representatives of the Packers.

NFL 7-ON-7 NATIONAL PASSING TOURNAMENTThe Packers were one of 24 NFL teams selected to send a team

of high school athletes to represent them in the NFL 7-on-7 National Passing Tournament. The competition was held in Ohio and hosted by the Cleveland Browns in July 2011. Twelve NFC and 12 AFC teams competed for the championship.

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL COACH OF THE WEEK PROGRAMEach week during the football season, the Packers honor a

Wisconsin high school football coach who demonstrates outstand-ing leadership on and off the field. Each winner receives $2,000 to be used for the school’s football program. One coach, named the Packers High School Football Coach of the Year, is given a $3,000 donation for his football program and is recognized at Lambeau Field during one of the Packers’ final home games.

PRO VS. G.I. JOE PROGRAMAs a part of the Pro vs. G.I. Joe program, several Packers

players connected with active Wisconsin National Guard members in a friendly battle of video games. Soldiers who were stationed in Afghanistan and Qatar were able to compete against the players via a video-conference setup.

SPOOKTACULAR FUN AT LAMBEAU FIELDFor two days each October, Lambeau Field is transformed for a

celebration of all things Halloween. The ninth annual Spooktacular Fun event featured interactive musicians, magicians and stilt walk-ers. In addition to the kids’ event, the Packers opened the doors to the Haunted Concourse, a spookhouse designed for area teens.

ECUMENICAL THANKSGIVING DAY DINNERFor the ninth consecutive year, Lambeau Field welcomed in

local people in need looking to partake in fellowship and a freshly prepared Thanksgiving meal. Nearly 500 volunteers from the com-munity gathered at Lambeau Field and served a sit-down meal to approximately 1,100 guests. An additional 1,100 meals were deliv-ered directly to the doors of those who were homebound.

FAMILIES OF CHILDREN WITH CANCER HOLIDAY PARTYNine Packers players teamed up with the Families of Children

with Cancer group to make the holidays a bit brighter for young cancer patients and their families at the group’s annual holiday party. Guests enjoyed talking to the players and competing in vari-ous games against them, and were thoroughly entertained as they all took to the stage to sing some classic holiday songs.

AWAY GAME PEP RALLIES While the Packers travel across the nation to compete in away

games, the team’s alumni participate in pep rallies at various estab-lishments in some of the cities in which the team is playing. These rallies help gather Packers fans from across the country and build excitement for the team when they are playing away from home.

JERRY PARINS CRUISE FOR CANCERJerry Parins, former director of security for the Packers, hosts

the annual Jerry Parins Cruise for Cancer each summer. The event, a 60-mile motorcycle ride, has raised in excess of $510,000 over the last eight years for various local cancer-related organizations. The ride was created by Parins a mere 16 months after he was diagnosed with cancer.

TRAINING CAMPEach summer, the Packers hold their annual training camp at

Ray Nitschke Field. The newly renovated field, which seats 1,500 fans, holds over 20 practices each year, with an estimated atten-dance of close to 100,000 fans throughout camp. Practices are viewed free of charge. The field is located directly across the street from Lambeau Field, which allows players the opportunity to keep alive the long-standing tradition of riding the bikes of young fans to practice, providing the kids a memory and a story to last a lifetime.

WELCOME BACK LUNCHEON

Each year, in the midst of training camp, the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce hosts the Welcome Back Luncheon. The event welcomes the players and coaches back to the area for the upcoming season, and serves as an opportunity for members of the community to interact with the team, as a player or coach is assigned to each table to mingle and dine with guests.

BROWN COUNTY CHILDREN’S CHARITY GOLF CLASSICOn an annual basis, the Packers team up with Brown County

to host the Children’s Charity Golf Classic, with proceeds from the 2011 event going to benefit homeless and indigent youth as well as foster and adoptive families. Through the support of Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy and other administrative staff who attended the event, over $45,000 was raised for the programs.

GREEN AND GOLD GALAThe 23rd annual Green and Gold Gala was once again held at

Lambeau Field in 2011. With the strong support of the Packers organization, crucial funds were raised for Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin, an organization aimed at offering services to families in crisis and need.

HOMETOWN HUDDLEThe Packers and United Way teamed up in the fall to add new

recreational equipment to a walking trail at the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary in Green Bay as part of the NFL Hometown Huddle project. Area schoolchildren were invited to visit the sanctuary as well as meet the Packers players who were lending a hand to the project that day.

The Green Bay Packers organization has enjoyed tre-mendous fan support through its long and storied history. The community supported the team in times of need by “passing the hat” at games and by buying stock in 1923, 1935, 1950, 1997 and 2011, among other ways. To give back to the community, the team created the Green Bay Packers Foundation in December 1986. The foundation assists in a wide variety of activities and programs that benefit education, civic affairs, health services, human services and youth-related programs.

Last year, in its annual distribution of funds, the foundation awarded $255,145 to 79 civic and charitable groups throughout the state of Wisconsin, Charlie Lieb, chairman of the foundation committee, announced Feb. 21, 2012. With these disbursements, the Foundation has distributed more than $2.5 million for charitable purposes since it was established in 1986 by Judge Robert J. Parins, then-president of the Packers Corporation, “as a vehicle to assure continued contributions to charity.”

The financial breakdown of the Foundation’s contribu-tions discloses that 30 grants – aggregating $118,325 – were awarded to Brown County organizations.

Additional grants, totaling $136,820, were made to 49 other groups around the state.

Under the Packers Scholarship Program, estab-lished in 2002, an additional $15,000 is being awarded – $7,500 to Scholarships, Inc., for distribution to students in four-year colleges and $7,500 to Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) for distribution to students in two-year associate degree or apprenticeship trades pro-grams. The scholarship funds come from National Football League Properties which, at the Packers’ request, returns to the Foundation royalty fees paid for using the Packers logo on Wisconsin automobile license plates.

In the past year, the Packers Foundation also has distributed an additional $57,375 on behalf of National Football League Charities — $20,000 in “Community Quarterback” awards to civic leaders for contributions to the community, $12,375 in the NFL’s “Coach of the Week” program which honors successful Wisconsin high school coaches on a weekly basis throughout the sea-son, $20,000 through the “Hometown Huddle/Youth Fitness Zone” program, and $5,000 to the “Play 60 Challenge” to encourage healthy lifestyles among young people.
