THEME:This years theme is "Do You K(no)w Me? Using the theme, create a work of art that
will challenge yourself and your audience to address how hate crimes can beprevented.
You can express a time when someone made assumptions about who you are in a
way that was not how you see yourself. How would you convince them otherwise?
How could you show the complexities of an individual that lie under the surface?
SUBMITTING ARTWORK:All submissions must be received by Friday, July 29nd Noon at one of the locations below. On the day you submit your artwork, please
send an e-mail [email protected], indicating the location where you dropped it off.

GUIDELINES: All work must be original. The following media are acceptable:
- Sketches - Music - Photography (up to 10 photos in a collage)
- Drawings - Poetry - Video (3 minutes max, all music must be original)
- Paintings - Collages - Any combination of media
- Computer Graphics
Artists must be between the ages of 13 and 19. Students can work individually or in groups. All visual art can be no larger than 18 in. by 24 in. and no smaller than 5 in. by 5 in. No sharp or dangerous materials allowed (razors, glass, knives, nails, etc.) Artwork will be displayed on walls, so submissions cannot be too heavy or delicate. The sponsoring organizations are not responsible for any damage to artwork. To be eligible for a prize, all participants must be present at the opening of the art exhibit on Monday August 1st,
2011 at 6:00 PM at the Museum of Chinese in Americas (215 Centre Street, Manhattan Chinatown).
